While the gear has changed over the years, the foundation of the team was established during trainings like these. Long days in harsh winter conditions training on Maine’s most iconic mountain, developing the skills, judgement, and trust that rescue demands.

Decades later, the team was back on the mountain again this past weekend, continuing the same commitment to preparation and teamwork.

Wilderness Rescue Team is proud to host the Maine premiere of Where the Rope Ends on November 22, 2025, at 7:00 PM at Southern Maine Community College.

This powerful documentary film tells the story of Nichole Doane, a trauma nurse who survived a 100-foot fall during a rappelling accident. In that life-changing moment, she found perspective and strength that guided her recovery and reshaped her future.

Nichole will be present for the screening and a Q&A session after the film.

All proceeds benefit the Wilderness Rescue Team, a volunteer Search & Rescue organization serving Maine for more than 40 years. Your support helps us continue providing search and rescue services across the state.
