⚾️ NE ELITE BASEBALL | KNOWLEDGE & DEVELOPMENT ⚾️
WEEK 9 OF 10 | WHAT DOES BEING COACHABLE ACTUALLY MEAN?
We hear it all the time:
“He’s a very coachable player.”
But what does that actually mean?
Being coachable isn’t about never making mistakes or immediately mastering every adjustment.
It’s about how a player responds when someone is trying to help them improve.
A coachable player:
⚾️ Listens when instruction is being given
⚾️ Asks questions when they don’t understand
⚾️ Is willing to try something that feels different
⚾️ Doesn’t become defensive when receiving feedback
⚾️ Makes an effort to apply what was taught
⚾️ Understands that correction isn’t criticism
Sometimes an adjustment works immediately.
Sometimes it takes hundreds of repetitions.
The important part is being willing to listen, try, adjust and keep working.
Talent gives a player a starting point.
Being coachable helps determine how far that player can develop.
🖤💛 Keep learning. Keep developing. Keep getting better.
