The Bread of Life Food Pantry is a GNG community food pantry, serving up produce, dairy, meats, dry goods, and lots of love every Sunday from 8:30am to 10:00am. It is the only food pantry in our area that opens its doors to serve food every single week.

Pantry clients are welcome on Tuesdays as well! We all enjoyed the pancake breakfast with the HOPE Group last Sunday, so we know they know how to cook 😉😋

The HOPE Group is hosting a casual BBQ and lawn games hangout on Tuesday night, July 22, 6pm-8pm. The volleyball net and corn hole boards and set and ready to go!

YOU are invited to drop in this Tuesday (or any Tuesday for that matter!) All are welcome at this all-ages family small group 🧡

Hey community! The dogwood tree is in bloom!

We enjoy this flowering tree every year, and we love seeing the community get to enjoy it too.

Since we often get questions about this tree each summer, we figured we would answer some of them here! 🌳

Q: What kind of tree is it?
A: Kousa Dogwood, 𝘊𝘰𝘳𝘯𝘶𝘴 𝘬𝘰𝘶𝘴𝘢

Q: Can I take family photos in front of the tree?
A: Families and photographers are all welcome. And if there is any meeting going on in the building at that time (food pantry, worship service, small group, etc.) please feel welcome to stop in and say hi! We're a pretty welcoming family, and we love meeting members of our community.

Q: How old is the tree?
A: About 52 years old. In 1973 the Crossroads family went from meeting in a gas station to constructing the building we meet in now. We believe that the dogwood tree was planted at that time. That said, this tree has already grown larger than most Kousa dogwoods do at mature height.

Q: For how long will it bloom?
A: Kousa dogwoods usually bloom for about 2-4 weeks, but heavy wind or rain may shorten this.

You are invited to come check it out! The tree is even more stunning in-person.

We had such a fun time at the 5th Annual Seed & Plant Swap this past Saturday!

Thank you everyone who joined and shared plants! Despite the rain, we had 150 participants this year, with hundreds of plants and thousands of seeds being exchanged among the community.

Our door prize winner is Ashley from Portland! Ashley, we will be reaching out to send you your gift card prize.

Thank you Crossroads Community Church, the HOPE Group, and Bread of Life Food Pantry for hosting this event! All are welcome to come back and visit any time:
• Crossroads gathers 10:30am-12:00pm on Sundays for worship, coffee, community, and teaching. Join them in-person or catch their live stream at www.youtube.com//streams
• Bread of Life distributes food 8:30am-10:00am on Sundays. Please share the food pantry information with anyone you know who has a food need.
• HOPE Group is an all-ages small group that meets 6pm-8pm on Tuesdays. If you are interested in connecting with your local church in a smaller setting, you are invited to stop in!

We are SO looking forward to hanging out with our plant-loving community at the 5th Annual Seed & Plant Swap this Saturday!

Here's how it works: You bring plants. You enjoy some refreshments as you browse the plants other attendees have brought. You leave with NEW plants.

Normally an indoor/outdoor celebration, but if it rains this Saturday we will just pull the event indoors! (A perfect way to get out and have some fun on a rainy Saturday!)

A huge THANK YOU to Pinetree Garden Seeds for donating an exciting variety of seed packets for this Saturday's Seed & Plant Swap!

The Seed & Plant Swap is a place for Mainers to exchange seeds, seedlings, bulbs, house plants, perennials, and propagations. Bring a plant you don't need; swap it for a new plant! This year we are excited to also be able to offer a selection FREE SEEDS to event attendees, courtesy of Pinetree Garden.

On Easter weekend, the Bread of Life Food Pantry will open on SATURDAY morning instead of Sunday.

This is to give our clients a chance to shop before Easter and to give our volunteer team the holiday morning with their families 💚

The Family Potluck and Annual Meeting are postponed to next week, April 6.

The Bread of Life Food Pantry distribution and the Crossroads Community Church worship service are STILL ON for those who can make it safely.
