The 2022 BCSA National Specialty is officially over. When we (Lisa Pruka and I) agreed to do this, we really wanted it to be an event that people wanted to attend. We had chaired previous Nationals in the early 2000s, so we created a plan for what worked and what we thought should be recreated this year. Lisa and I decided to include fantastic Rosettes, as well as prizes for placements and qualifiers to really make the National a celebration.
Amber, Nick, Morgan, Celeste and the entire AMK9 country crew, we can’t thank you enough for the BEST BCSA agility trial we’ve ever had. It was simply amazing!
We want to thank Tracy, Bettie, and the team of stock setters for their hard work and long days at herding. It was a successful two days.
Thank you to the Heartland Border Collie Club for renting ring stewards for Rally and Obedience.
Thank you, Paula Kereszi! You were an invaluable source of information, and you kept Rally, Obedience and Conformation running smoothly. We truly appreciate your hard work, and we can’t thank you enough.
Julie Bosier, we truly appreciate your attention to detail regarding specialty wear. Thank you! We loved the online store and I hope it is something the club continues.
We want to thank our photographer, Teddy Lei for gorgeous photos. Teddy was originally supposed to be our conformation photographer for win shots and ringside photos. Our performance photographer declined the assignment at the last minute. We were unable to find a replacement and Teddy stepped up to assist us. Thank you! I know your days were long. Please join us in supporting show photographers by purchasing your photos.
Thank you, Katie Rodgers for running the Sips n Studs event! It was a fun new addition and I look forward to attending future events. You did a great job.
Thank you, Julie Despot, for your hard work on the Top 20. We endured some supply chain issues with ribbons, but it all came together in the end.
Janice Swofford, Jeanette Jolly, Ronna Stewart, and Julie Bosier; thank you all for managing the health testing.
In addition, we want to thank Janice, Jeanette, and Ronna for driving to Hodges and picking up the ribbons on Tuesday, to save us shipping.
Thank you, Laura Denison, and Carter printing for assisting me with catalogs for both the National Specialty and the Top 20. Your services were top notch and under budget.
It was nice to bring back herding instinct testing. We want to thank Julie Degan for judging and Diana Smith for setup.
The BCSA Banquet was back! Thank you, Pam Norman, for organizing the online auction. It was great.
Linda Ramas, thank you for your willingness to transport all the things we couldn’t fit in our vans.
Thank you to Angel Duffy, Rebecca Erickson, and Becky Koeger for doing whatever needed done in the moment.
Lastly, we want to thank our exhibitors. Thank you for attending. It was great to see so many new faces and so many smiles. We truly appreciate your dedication to your dogs. Until next time…. Megan Harrison and Lisa Pruka
