The Gravette Fire Auxiliary is looking for new members, fresh ideas, helping hands, and people who just love their community.

You don’t need special skills.
You don’t need tons of free time.
And you definitely don’t have to know what you’re doing on day one.

Just bring yourself, your ideas, and a willingness to help!

We help with fundraisers, community events, supporting our firefighters, and all the behind-the-scenes things that make a BIG difference.

Yesterday, we had the wonderful privilege to receive a check from the Gravette Harps store for the fundraiser that was held over the summer for our Police and Fire Departments.

We have been busy raising money for the new Cardiac Monitor for almost a year now, and we are getting very close! We have raised nearly $60,000 for this purchase since last November!

Thank you Harps Stores for being such a fantastic community partner, and not just with this fundraiser!

Today, the Gravette Fire Auxiliary would like to recognize and thank the incredible volunteer firefighters who dedicate their time to protecting and serving our community.

Volunteer firefighters have been part of the foundation of fire service in America for centuries. In fact, some of the earliest organized fire companies in our country were made up entirely of volunteers — neighbors stepping forward to protect neighbors. That tradition of service continues today in communities across the country, including right here at home.

What many people may not realize is that a large portion of the Gravette Fire Department is made up of volunteers.

These men and women have families, careers, responsibilities, and lives outside of the fire department. Yet when the tones drop, they answer. Whether it is the middle of the night, during dinner, on a holiday, or in the middle of a family event, they are willing to put everything aside to serve someone in need.

Being a volunteer firefighter is much more than responding to calls. It means countless hours of training, meetings, maintaining equipment, continuing education, and preparing for emergencies they hope never happen.

As the Gravette Fire Auxiliary, we have the privilege of supporting these firefighters, and we see the dedication and sacrifice that happens behind the scenes.

To every volunteer who has served, currently serves, or is preparing to serve with any department, THANK YOU!

Thank you for answering the call.
Thank you for the hours no one sees.
Thank you for the missed dinners and sleepless nights.
Thank you for choosing to serve your neighbors and your community.

Our department and our community are stronger because of you.

Today, on International Firefighters’ Day, we pause to recognize the courage and sacrifice of firefighters everywhere.

Whether career or volunteer, you answer the call on someone else’s worst day, leaving your own families, your own comfort, your own plans behind, just to help a stranger. That kind of selflessness is something words can never fully capture.

To the families who stand beside you… we see your sacrifices too. The late nights, the missed holidays, the quiet worry, you carry it all with strength and love.
