Wayward Journey is a nonprofit that partners with the Grass Valley Animal Control Shelter by managing their volunteer and foster programs. 💔 Bella has been waiting longer than any other dog at our shelter.
At 8 years old, this sweet girl is house-trained, great on leash, wonderful with kids, and loves nothing more than spending time with her people. She’s healthy, spayed, vaccinated, microchipped, and ready for a home of her own.
Bella would do best as the only pet, where she can enjoy all the love and attention she deserves.

Unfortunately, the electricity turned off halfway through so only two bands had the chance to perform. That just means we’ll have to plan another gathering though! Stay tuned for the benefit concert’s new scheduled date!

Nacho is athletic, smart, soulful, and an all around, certified Good Boi.

Nacho needs:
✅️ A minimum 6' fence - we serious when we say he is athletic
✅️ someone to stare deeply into his soul because he is gonna do the same
✅️ moderately active family who can ensure nacho gets the physical and mental stimulation he needs.

Nacho is about 2 and neutered.

He is dog selective.

🧡 Meet the cutest deaf teenage pup around, Goliath!

Goliath is a 7-mos-old mixed breed pup who is a fast learner and super people focused.

🐶 Goliath has met and played with multiple dogs. He can sometimes be pushy with other dogs.
🐈 Goliath did well with a confident, social cat. He was playful and might be too much for many cats.
🐔 No chickens

🍪 Goliath works for treats and is gentle taking them.

He knows the hand signals for sit, come, and "good job".

He has been around children- he would do best in a home with older kids as he can be playful and is learning not to jump.

This very good Boi is looking for a home that is mildly active and also very interested in relaxing cuddle sessions!

🐾 What a difference one delivery can make! Our pet pantry went from empty to full thanks to volunteer transporter Paul!

We feed an average of 75 pets every week helping pets stay in their homes instead of being surrendered to a shelter. Our pet pantry has been running for 14 months now and we’ve served over 23,000 lbs of food!

If you need help feeding your pet, visit us at the Grass Valley Shelter every Saturday from 12-2. We’re here to help! 💕

Do you need a best friend in your life? Zeus could be the one!

This gentle giant is a year old, 120 lbs, neutered, chipped, and vaccinated.

A Wayward Journey volunteer rescued Zeus and his brother Artemis! The pair had been running loose for weeks. Sam and her family caught the two and brought them to safety.

Zeus is now ready for his forever home. He is a livestock guardian breed mix, social, friendly, and will even dip his toes into the pool.
