Food Love Farm Summer Camp!!

It's back and starts in two weeks!

Sierra Harvest's Food Love Farm is the tastiest camp in town! This camp is designed to encourage children to feel and understand their connection to themselves, their community, the Earth, and the food they eat. Throughout the week, kids will learn about food, farming, and the environment by engaging in activities related to our daily theme.

There are 4 sessions this year - the first begins in two weeks!

Session 1: June 15-19
Session 2: June 22-26
Session 3: July 6-10
Session 4: July 20-24

We are cancelling our upcoming workshop (5/31 & 6/1), as there was more rain than originally predicted for this week causing unfavorable conditions for our burn. Thank you all for wanting to join us at this workshop!

This will be the end of the NCRCD's burn season. We hope to see you all in the fall!

The Bear Yuba Land Trust is onboard to head to Truckee on June 3rd for our 1st Annual Truckee Farm Day!

**UPDATE: Due to this week's storm and the humidity that comes with it, we are move the burn over to May 31st and June 1st.**

Date: May 31st - June 1st, 8AM - 5PM each
day (Can select specific days to join)

Location: Off of Champion Mine Road. Specific address
announced with registration.

NCRCD is assisting with a burn led by William Scott
Enterprises to do an educational burn near the popular
Champion Mine trail! We are also excited to have the
HUṠWEJ Stewardship Crew and First Rain Land
Stewardship Services collaborating to make this burn
possible. This property has had pretreatments of
thinning, burn piles, and goat grazing.

What to expect: briefing of our burn plans, test burn,
learning and participating with the different roles people
play on a prescribed burn, smoke management,
weather monitoring, and the firing process for
influencing fire behavior. We will also discuss the steps
taken after a prescribed burn like mopping-up,
monitoring, evaluating, and maintenance.
