๐ก๐ Building Hope. Creating Opportunity. Changing Lives. ๐
Community Uplift is dedicated to breaking the cycle of housing insecurity for underserved populationsโespecially youth aging out of foster care. Every young person deserves a safe place to call home and the opportunity to build a successful future. โค๏ธ
โจ Our Mission
To reverse the negative effects of inadequate housing by providing safe, affordable homes and comprehensive support services that promote independence and strengthen communities.
๐ Our Vision
A community where every young person, regardless of their background, has equitable access to housing, resources, and opportunities that lead to long-term success.
๐ Affordable Transitional Housing
Community Uplift serves young adults ages 18โ23 by providing:
๐ก Safe and affordable housing
๐ Educational support
๐ผ Employment readiness
๐ค Life skills and holistic services that empower independence
๐ Why This Matters in Michigan
โข Nearly 600 youth age out of foster care each year, and many face homelessness, unemployment, incarceration, or unplanned parenthood without the support they need.
โข Nearly 60% of young men who age out of foster care have been convicted of a crime.
โข Each youth who ages out without adequate support can cost taxpayers approximately $300,000 in lifetime social expensesโtotaling about $172 million annually in Michigan.
