This past Saturday, the Captain Molly Corbin Chapter, NSDAR dedicated a new “Liberty Tree” in Southlake, Texas as part of our ongoing celebration of America’s 250th birthday!! Southlake Mayor, Shawn McCaskill, proudly proclaimed it “Liberty Tree Day,” while the Carroll Honor Choir sang the National Anthem and members of the Molly Pitcher C.A.R. Society illuminated the young oak tree with lanterns. We also were joined by an SAR color guard and lots of members of the community. It was a beautiful day to honor our country and our patriot ancestors!!

About our DAR Chapter

The Captain Molly Corbin Chapter was established July 7, 2003. We are a large, active chapter in the Grapevine area. Our meetings are in the evening of the 2nd Thursday of each month, September thru May, with the exceptions of November and April. In November, we host a Veteran’s Luncheon with a Silent Auction, on a Saturday, benefiting the local VA Hospitals. In April, we host an evening Awards Ceremony to honor high school Good Citizens and other local named awardees. If interested in attending a meeting or learning more about our chapter, please DM us.

With more than 120 years of tradition, over 990,000 members admitted since its founding, a vast array of service work, a historic National Headquarters building with extraordinary collections, and countless activities taking place locally, nationally and globally, there is much to learn about the Daughters of the American Revolution.

The organization was founded in 1890 with the simple mission of promoting historic preservation, education and patriotism. These timeless, overarching principles keep the DAR strong and vitally relevant in this ever-changing world.

This nonprofit, nonpolitical volunteer women's service organization dedicated to promoting patriotism, preserving American history and securing America's future through better education consists of over 185,000 members in 3,000 chapters across the world. These vibrant, active women are the heart of the organization.
