Grapevine Shield Foundation

Grapevine Shield Foundation Providing assistance to the family members of Police Officers and Firefighters from Grapevine, Texas, who are injured or killed in the line of duty.

The Grapevine Shield Foundation was established in 2008 by members of the Grapevine Heritage Lions Club to assist family members of Grapevine Police Officers and Firefighters who are injured or killed in the line of duty. A board of directors manages the “Foundation”, and all funds donated will be used to the benefit of police officers' and firefighters' families in a time of need. The "Foundation

" has no paid employees and the directors do not receive any compensation. Each and every day, the citizens and businesses of Grapevine enjoy the security provided by the work of our police and firefighters. Most of the time, we do not give it a second thought, but we know that if we need them, they will be there. They go to work each day ready to put their safety and lives on the line for us. When tragedy strikes any of us, they are there to help. The Grapevine Shield Foundation wants to provide security for them in return.

Here is info about the upgrades coming to our fire apparatus.

🚨 NEW APPARATUS COMING SOON TO GRAPEVINE 🚨

We’re excited to share that soon you will see three new heavy fire apparatus on the streets of Grapevine!

These additions include:
• 1 New Engine
• 2 New Ladder Trucks

These new apparatus will replace aging frontline apparatus and ensure we continue delivering reliable, high-quality emergency response to our community.

Here’s what’s being upgraded:

🔴 Truck 5 (Grapevine Mills Blvd.) is currently operating a 2009 Pierce Velocity 75’ aerial

🔴 Truck 1 (Turner Rd.) → Renumbered as Truck 7 is currently operating a 2013 Pierce Dash 100’ platform

🔴 Engine 3 (Timberline Dr.) → Renumbered as Engine 8 is currently operating a 2012 Pierce Velocity pumper.

We are beyond excited about these tremendous fleet upgrades and what they mean for our ability to serve you.

Most importantly, we want to thank the citizens of Grapevine—your continued support makes investments like this possible and ensures we have the tools needed to respond when you call.

A formal announcement with details on the push-in ceremonies will be shared soon by fire administration. We hope everyone who would like to attend will join us as we place these new apparatus into service.

See you soon, Grapevine! 🚒

Keep in mind cars drive on streets, boats drive on water. Not the other way around.

Yesterday, our Patrol Officers were dispatched to Katie’s Woods Park Boat Ramp, where a Tesla Cybertruck was in the water, near the shoreline. The driver stated he intentionally drove into the lake to use the Cybertruck’s “Wade Mode” feature. The vehicle became disabled and took on water. The driver and passengers abandoned the vehicle and the Grapevine Fire Department Water Rescue Team assisted in removing it from the lake. The driver was arrested on charges of Operation of Vehicle in Closed Section of Park/Lake and numerous water safety equipment violations.
We want to remind drivers that although a vehicle may be physically capable of entering shallow freshwater areas, doing so can create legal and safety concerns under Texas law.

This is great advise if you are going out on any lake or body of water.
