With the projected weather conditions expected to arrive in the Grapeland area, a warming shelter will be available late Friday afternoon. If someone in the Grapeland community and the surrounding areas experience a power outage, and is unable to access heat or need help the shelter will be open as needed.

Please bring the following items:
Blankets/pillows
Any medications/ life sustaining essentials you may need
Something to do for any small children
Snacks/diapers/formula
Phone/tablet chargers

Houston County recently issued a 7-day burn ban on January 7, 2026, due to high wildfire risks from dry conditions, prohibiting outdoor burning in unincorporated areas. This ban took effect immediately and will last for a week unless extended, as severe drought and weather increase the danger of wildfires.

We were honored last night to have supper provided to the department by these lovely ladies. We also received training by AirEvac and Stryker to better serve our residents in case the need arises.

🔥 WARMING CENTER INFORMATION: The City of Crockett will open a warming center for residents of Crockett and Houston County.

📍 Crockett Civic Center

🕔 Opens: Monday Jan 20 at 5 PM
🕔 Closes: Wednesday Jan 22 5PM

‼️ Bring your own food, water, and bedding. Cots are provided but no other supplies.‼️

Small Pets will be allowed in the warming center but must be kenneled.
