Fall Bird Walk Slated for Sept. 20
Who says fall isn’t a great time for birding? Join East Central Ohio Audubon on Sunday, Sept. 20 at 9:00 a.m. for a bird walk in the Denison BioReserve, led by Sarah Winnicki, a Denison University senior who is a leading local birder and member of Audubon. Winnicki will help point out autumn avian regulars as well as migrating birds who are traveling south on the Central Ohio flyway.
The bird walk is free and open to birders of all skill levels. Bring your binoculars and wear study shoes for the hiking trails. The walk will last about an hour and a half; however, it will be easy to leave earlier if needed.
The BioReserve is located on the east side of Route 661 north of Granville. To reach it from Broadway in Granville, turn north onto Pearl Street from Broadway and go 1.2 miles, after passing the back entrance to the Denison campus and the Denison/Granville Recycling Center on the left. Turn right into the BioReserve drive, which is marked by a small wooden sign. Immediately take the right fork in the driveway, and go up the hill to the parking area.
