Congratulations to all of our Great Granville Picnic contest winners! 🎉

A special thank you to GCF board members Billie Zimmers for coordinating the contests and winner recognition and Melanie Schott for helping bring it all together!

We are also so grateful to all of the judges, volunteers and, of course, everyone who participated. It was such fun bringing these traditions back from picnics past and seeing the community embrace them all over again! ❤️

The Great Granville Picnic would not have been possible without the Granville Exempted Village Schools students and staff who stepped up to help tremendously throughout the process! From planning, to publicity, to these wonderful student athletes, we could not have done it without this critical community partnership!

It’s that time again! GCF is accepting grant applications from nonprofits, governmental entities and quasi-governmental groups that serve residents of the Granville School district. Our scope is broad - we fund anything from arts and cultural events to historic preservation to start up projects and capital improvements. If you have been thinking about bringing a new and interesting project to Granville, we’d love to help! Check out our grant application, and drop any questions you have in the comments!

🎉🇺🇸 THE GREAT GRANVILLE PICNIC IS TOMORROW! 🇺🇸🎉

Join us Saturday, August 15 from 4:00–8:30 PM on Broadway between Plum and Mulberry Streets as we revive this long standing Granville tradition and celebrate America’s 250th birthday AND the Granville Community Foundation’s 55th Anniversary!

No table reservation? No problem! The event is FREE and open to everyone, with free lawn seating available — bring a blanket or lawn chair or even your own table and join us on the lawn next to Denison University’s Eisner Center!

There is plenty happening throughout the afternoon and evening:

🎶 Live music: Common Thread from 4–5:30 PM and Mandatory Fun from 6:30–8 PM
🇺🇸 Posting of the Colors, National Anthem, Pledge of Allegiance & Fife and Drum Bugle Corps
🥧 Bake-Off Contest for kids AND adults — apple pie, patriotic cakes and cookies!
🎨 Kids art activities
⭐ Old-fashioned lawn games
🏆 Table decorating contest
🪖 Veterans gathering area & Revolutionary War soldier displays

Bring your own picnic or grab dinner from a local Granville restaurant and make an evening of it!

🧺❗️A Few Last Minute Picnic Tables Have Recently Become Available!

Due to a few cancellations, a limited number of tables are now available for The Great Granville Picnic on Saturday, August 15.

Tables will be offered on a first-come, first-served basis. To be added to the list, please email [email protected] with your name and phone number. We will contact interested parties in the order emails are received.

Please join us in welcoming Katie Fletcher to the Granville Community Foundation as our new Administrative Assistant!

Katie brings a strong background in communications, nonprofit administration, and board support, along with a genuine passion for serving others. A longtime Granville resident with her husband and two daughters, Girl Scout leader, Meals on Wheels volunteer, Granville Public Library trustee and active community member, Katie is deeply invested in the place we all call home.

As the Foundation continues to grow and expand its impact throughout our community, we are excited to have Katie join our team. Her warmth, organization, and collaborative spirit will be a tremendous asset as we continue connecting people and resources to strengthen Granville.
