๐Ÿณ๏ธโ€๐ŸŒˆ Today, Granville Pride honors Marsha P. Johnson on what would have been her 81st birthday. ๐Ÿณ๏ธโ€โšง๏ธ

Born August 24, 1945, Marsha became an enduring symbol of courage, visibility, and resistance in the fight for LGBTQ+ liberation.

She stood boldly for a community that too often had no voiceโ€”especially transgender people, people of color, and LGBTQ+ youth experiencing homelessness. Alongside Sylvia Rivera, she helped create STAR, providing support and shelter for some of the most vulnerable members of our community.

Marsha reminded the world that Pride is more than a celebration. It is courage. It is community. It is standing up for one another.

Today, we celebrate her life, honor her legacy, and continue the work she helped begin.

Today, we honor the anniversary of the Stonewall Uprising. ๐Ÿณ๏ธโ€๐ŸŒˆ

On June 28, 1969, members of the LGBTQIA+ community stood together against injustice outside the Stonewall Inn, forever changing the fight for equality. Their courage sparked a movement that continues to inspire generations around the world.

Pride is more than a celebration. It is a reminder that progress has always been powered by ordinary people choosing to stand up, speak out, and support one another.

As we reflect on yesterdayโ€™s incredible Granville Pride celebration, we remember that our work continues today. We celebrate with joy, advocate with purpose, and remain committed to building a community where everyone is safe, seen, valued, and loved.
