💔 What is happening to humanity?
These two boys (brothers?) were left behind outside when their family moved. Just… left behind with no shelter or food, as if their lives and their loyalty meant nothing.

Thankfully, a kind neighbor noticed them and stepped up to help get them into rescue. Because while some people can walk away and leave their animals behind, there are still good people who can't turn a blind eye to suffering.

Pets are not disposable belongings. They are living, feeling beings who depend on us. They don't understand why the people they trusted have suddenly disappeared. They only know that the home they knew is gone.

Moving is not an excuse. Life changes, circumstances change, but our responsibility to the animals who depend on us doesn't simply disappear when it's inconvenient.
We are grateful to the neighbor who cared enough to help these boys find safety. Now they have a chance at the future they deserve.

Please, if you can no longer care for your pet, reach out for help. Plan ahead. Surrender them responsibly. Find resources. Ask for assistance. But never leave them behind.
They deserve so much better than that. 🐾💔

*These sweet boys don't have names yet, but they have shelter, food/water and a litter box. They will be available for adoption was neutered and vetted!

Just sharing some of our recent adoptions, we have been hopping! 49 adoptions in September and 19 so far in October. Add a whole slew of TNR & intakes onto that and we've been BUSY!

We are hovering right around 100 in care, we can't get into double digits for more than a few minutes it seems.

🌹 Senior Sunday: Meet Rosette! 🌹
Rosette may be a senior, but she still has plenty of love to give! ❤️ And one BIG bonus? She has had a FULL dental extraction, so her dental work is already behind her! 🦷✨ She absolutely loves her kibble and eats it like a champ!
Rosette is currently hanging out in our Catnip Cottage cat café. She does well with other cats, but we think she’d really love a quieter home without 25 feline roommates. 😂
You’ll often find her in her pineapple 🍍 or perched in a window seat. But if she sees us humans outside working on paperwork, she’ll scratch at the glass door because she knows exactly where the snuggles are! 🥹 She loves affection and curling up for a cozy snooze with her person.
She’s been with us for a few months now, patiently waiting for her forever family. Please help us find it for her. ❤️🐾

🐾 Rescue doesn’t stop — even before the workday begins.

At 6 AM this morning, we headed to United Alloys Metals to begin a rescue we had been planning. 15 cats had been living inside the metal factory for 6+ months, and it simply wasn’t a safe environment.
The men there truly cared about these cats and wanted better for them. They had reached out to multiple rescues, and we were one of the few willing to take on all 15.

We pulled 8 today — more to come. ❤️

Now it’s time to vet, bathe, socialize, and get these cats ready for their next chapter.

And yes… we did all this before my 8 AM workday. 😂 Rescue doesn’t stop!

🎂🎉 (1 day Belated) HAPPY BIRTHDAY to four very special FeLV+ kittens! 🐾💛
Today we’re celebrating four little fighters—and sharing an important reminder about why we test kittens individually for FeLV rather than assuming the whole litter has the same result. Biscuit, Butter, Custard and Honey... They are living their best lives with a most wonderful adopter in Maine -- these are the little ones that flew off to their forever homes this past winter/spring.

These four came from a group of 10 kittens… and 6 tested negative while 4 tested positive. Two litters combined at one homestead because one mom was unfortunately hit by a car -- so all nursed from one mom most of their lives.

This is exactly why testing just one kitten from a litter isn’t enough.

A positive FeLV test does not mean a kitten is broken, unlovable, or without a future. These babies just need to only live with other positive kitties. They deserve just as much love, comfort, and a chance at a forever home as any other kitten. ❤️

So, we’re wishing our four FeLV+ birthday babies a VERY HAPPY 1st BIRTHDAY! 🎂🐱🎉
And maybe their biggest birthday wish is simple: a family who sees the kitten—not the test result. If you don't have pets and have ever had an inkling to foster -- FeLV kitties may need your help the most! 💛
