Today was Turbos last official day of Advanced Training! Special thanks to his trainer, Kelsey, over the last couple of months for all the hours of training and guiding him through to finding his perfect partner. On Monday, he will officially begin Team Training with his Partner and they will learn to be work together. Good job Turbo (and Kelsey too)!

SSD sitters are so important to a service dogs journey! Since these dogs are training their whole life to go live with someone else, they need experience being in different homes with different handlers. Maybe their future partner will have kids, maybe live in an apartment, maybe on a farm, or in a busy city, or on a college campus - it’s good to give them as many experiences as possible.

Turbo has the week off of training and is getting to spend the week with the amazing Smiths! Rumor has it he has fallen in love with Peter - he knows where the treats are coming from!

And just like that, plans have changed!

Turbo was tentatively matched - but now he will be hanging out for a couple more months! Plans have a way of changing sometimes and Turbo will remain in advanced training until October’s Team Training.

This month brings big changes for Turbo! Turbo has been tentatively matched and is polishing up his skills to head to his partner at the end of the month! We don’t have a lot of details yet, but he has been trained to be placed in a facility - this could mean working in a school, hospital, medical office, courthouse, etc. The biggest difference is Turbo will not just get to work with one person, but instead he will get to work with many over the years!

This guy is going to change some lives!
