After an awesome performance at Camp Meriwether, BSA our newest Scout Jaden has kept up the hard work, and tonight knocked out the last of his Scout rank, and is already half way to Tenderfoot!

Jaden was also honored at Camp for his Scout Spirit, this young man, is going one way; straight to the top!

Congratulations!

Scoutmaster Minute:

Spent some time in Scoutbook Plus tonight getting our Summer Camp records updated, and while I was in there, I started looking at where everyone stands on their Rank and Merit Badge requirements.

I also reached out to several parents whose Scouts are really close to knocking out a Rank or Merit Badge, with the goal of helping them get those last few requirements finished before our next Court of Honor on September 21st.

And honestly... there is a LOT happening! ๐Ÿ”ฅโšœ๏ธ

So many advancements were completed this week, and even more Scouts are sitting right on the doorstep of their next accomplishment.

This is the part of Scouting I really enjoy. Watching a Scout start with a blank page, work through the requirements, learn something new, get outside their comfort zone, and eventually stand in front of their Troop and receive that Rank or Merit Badge.

None of it happens overnight. It happens one requirement, one skill, one campout, one challenge at a time.

So if your Scout is close to finishing something, let's get it done! Don't let those last few requirements sit on the shelf.

We've got a big Court of Honor coming up, and I'd love nothing more than to have a whole lot of Scouts standing up there on September 21st with something new to celebrate. ๐Ÿ•๏ธโšœ๏ธ

The work is happening. The Scouts are growing. And we're just getting started.

Keep climbing, Troop 22. ๐Ÿ—ปโšœ๏ธ

A Scoutmaster Minute:

As this will be my last Summer Camp as Scoutmaster of the Troop, I wanted to thank each and every Parent who gave up a week of their lives to support these boys in their Scouting Journey.

Victor, for being a rock and sticking through the tooth pain, and sacrificing the first part of each day to complete the required Training to continue water adventures for the next two years.

Dallas, for jumping right in and standing with Victor thru the training as well, and taking the plunge for the Troop during the Adult Leader Belly Flop contest! Chief Redbelly of the Fire Breathing Barking Spider tribe had hands down the biggest splash!

Carrie, for keeping our Scouts reminded that "A Scout is clean" means more than just in language and a shower. And for keeping the boys from wasting program time hanging about. And knocking out her IOLS Training with Michelle.

Michelle, for continuing to support the boys, taking pictures, and keeping us on time in the mornings. And pushing each to go bigger with their skills building.

Erik, for keeping our humor going, running to town for any needed supplies we couldn't get at camp, and being willing to remain at the campfire tending our flame. And the flame of Sriracha!

Gramps, for taking one more adventure with me, Logan and the Troop, bringing his insights to leadership, and encouraging the boys to excel in servant leadership.

Benny, for helping get the Troop there and back again, and sharing his insight and amazing gear, and the best coffee I've ever tasted.

I also want to thank EVERY PARENT who sent their Scouts on this amazing adventure. For encouraging your youth to step outside their comfort zones, and make the most of their journey. The Troop was immortalized on the Anchor at the Front of Discovery Lodge as an Honor Troop.

Many merit badges were earned, special honors recognized, partials made, and plans for follow up were locked in.

Enjoy the next week off, and we will see you at the next Meeting at the Grange August 17th! Stay tuned as we turn up the heat and begin construction of this years 23 Screams Haunted Cornmaze as well.

And again, truly, THANK YOU for helping make this oast week happen. I know I for one, had a blast with Troop 22.

Double Oh! Double Duece!!
We're the Troop that Rules the Roost!!

๐Ÿšฉ The Scouts need more than Scouts. They need adventurers.

Did you grow up camping? Fishing? Hiking? Building fires? Exploring trails? Maybe life got busy, and those weekends around a campfire slowly disappeared.

Or maybe you have a son who's spending more time looking at a screen than looking at the stars.

This is your invitation.

Troop 22 isn't just looking for youth members. We're looking for parents who believe that confidence is built one campfire at a time, that leadership grows by doing, and that some of life's greatest lessons happen miles away from Wi-Fi.

You don't have to be an Eagle Scout.
You don't have to know every knot.
You don't have to be an expert.

You just need to enjoy the outdoors, be willing to learn alongside some incredible young people, and want to make a difference.

Our Scouts need adults who can:
๐Ÿ•๏ธ Camp under the stars
๐Ÿฅพ Hike new trails
๐Ÿ”ฅ Teach outdoor skills
๐Ÿ›ถ Share adventures
๐Ÿค Encourage the next generation of leaders

The funny thing is... most adults join to help their kids.

They stay because they rediscover something they forgot they needed.

If you've been looking for an excuse to get back outside, this is it.

If your family has been searching for more adventure, this is it.

If you want your child to become more confident, capable, and prepared for life, this is it.

Troop 22 has been building leaders for nearly 100 years. Help us build the next 100.

Come visit a meeting. Bring your questions. Bring your family. We'd love to meet you.
