Hey all it has been a long time since I've been on here. I am facilitating a peer mentored therapy group for women with physical disabilities who experience depression, so I will be advocating for The Beautifully Broken Project more now that my mind is more focused to mental health. Here is information on the therapy group I will be facilitating❤️

I woke up this morning extra tired and just had this sadness through out the day. I couldnt figure out why. I had a good week and was working my favorite job today so it didn't make sense to me....and then I realized it was April 27th. I can't believe it's been 7 years since he has passed. I feel like this year is extra sad after losing my grandma just last summer. Not having either of them is still hard to process at times...it doesn't seem real except during random times when it hits me all at once. I am beyond thankful for the years I had with him though! Many fishing trips, golf tournaments, and horse shows are just a fraction of what this man provided for me. He wasn't just my grandpa, he was my dad as well. Giving up smoking the day I was born was just the first change he made for it would soon be followed by retiring from his job that he was so passionate about, in order to raise my brother and I. Literally EVERY choice he made since then was to better our lives. He could put a lot of pressure on us but it was only with the best intentions. I miss him more each year. It's so true when they say grief comes and goes in waves. I always thought I would be "over it" after a couple years but I don't think it's something we get over. It just becomes more normal and the sad days become less frequent. ❤❤❤

It doesn't happen right away but making small changes add up to a big change. This is such a good way to gain power over the illnesses and feel stronger than before ❤

I needed this. Hope some of you find comfort in it too. We don't need to rush..we don't need to magically be 100% better...we don't need to meet standards some people set and we DON'T need to feel sad or guilty because of comments people whI are close to you say. I can't even count how many times I have cried after hanging up from talking to a family member or cried on the way home from hanging out with someone because of comment(s) people said. Let's stop allowing ourselves to be hurt by these things that don't matter and half the time people don't even realize what hurt they caused.

In support of World Semicolon Day. No one should have to die a thousand times after losing their father..mother...sibling...best friend...whoever! And no one should have to feel so hopeless and alone that su***de is the favorable choice in their mind. I lost my dad to su***de 7 years ago and I can't even describe the pain I felt in my heart. The pain can still hit me just as hard out of no where now and then. I myself have also felt suicidal and I have made it a mission to keep fighting and fighting for others to keep fighting. Your life doesnt have to be over even if you feel that's the choice you need to make ❤ ***deprevention
