GMO Free Josephine County

GMO Free Josephine County Citizens working to promote our GMO-Free Josephine County, OR, through education & awareness, to preserve the integrity of our food & freedom to grow it.

From 2014-2022 a grassroots volunteer group of concerned citizens worked together to promote & protect our unique bioregion from GMO crops and the health & environmental dangers they pose, and to offer education regarding the potential health risks associated with consuming genetically engineered (GMO) ingredients. In May of 2014, the citizens of Josephine County overwhelmingly voted to ban GMO cr

ops from our region. We continue to offer GMO education in our community and support efforts for GMO labeling and protective agriculture ordinances across Oregon and the nation. As of December 2022, we are disbanding this group and are preserving our GMO Free Josephine County website as an Archive Page with our sister organization known as Oregonians for Safe Farms and Families. You can find it here: https://www.oregoniansforsafefarmsandfamilies.org/gmo-free-josephine-county/

Thank you!

Good news indeed!

WALDRON, Sask. — There are 25 grain bins in Travis Heide’s farmyard, including six massive ones with a capacity of 70,000 bushels each. In total, the bins can store around 550,000 bu. of grain. That’s enough for 10,000 acres of spring wheat, assuming an average yield of 55 bu. per acre. For mo...

We don’t always align with the ODA however this week is National Agriculture Week and we want to say thank you to our local farmers and ranchers who grow and raise our GMO Free food.

We have discovered that in the Rogue Valley agriculture it's not just what our farmers do, it's who they are – transparent, sustainable and GMO Free

We celebrate our local family farmers for their commitment to provide a safe and reliable food supply for us all. This week is a great time to discuss local and sustainable farms and their farming practices with your friends and families.

Additionally, this coming weekend you can shop at one of several local Grower’s Markers throughout the Rogue Valley.

Today, more than ever, people are making connections between the food on their plates and the farms it came from.

Know your farmer, know your food! Celebrate farmers this week during National Agriculture Week and seek out locally grown fresh ingredients for you and your family to enjoy!

It's National Ag Week. Celebrate the diversity of Oregon ag. More than 225 crops, seafood & livestock, big farms & small, organic & conventional, selling local or exporting. It’s all Oregon agriculture.
