Crossing Bridges TRC enriches lives in Southern Oregon through therapeutic riding & equine learning

Crossing Bridges Therapeutic Riding Center is a non-profit in Grants Pass, OR, which serves students of all walks of life, ages 3 and up. The mission of Crossing Bridges TRC is to enrich the lives and hearts of individuals and their families through the healing power of equines. At Crossing Bridges, student’s will be given the tools and support they need to overcome obstacles and bridges in their own lives. Crossing Bridges will provide students with a stable and safe environment where they can grow and thrive under the direct supervision of a PATH Certified Instructor, caring volunteers, and equine companions.

Sometimes the biggest accomplishments happen in the smallest moments.

A student who was once nervous now walks into the arena with confidence. A child who struggled with following directions begins remembering the steps. A rider who needed constant reassurance starts believing in themselves.

These are the moments that matter.
At Crossing Bridges, we’re not just teaching students how to ride horses. We’re creating opportunities for growth, connection, and independence, one lesson at a time.

And we’re pretty lucky to have a front-row seat.

Meet Jen!

When it comes to horses, Jen knows a thing or two… or twenty years’ worth!

Jen brings an incredible amount of knowledge and experience to Crossing Bridges Therapeutic Riding Center!

As a CHA Level 3 Certified Instructor in both English and Western riding, a Master Instructor for IRD, and an Assistant Certifier for IRD instructors, Jen has dedicated much of her life to working with horses and teaching others.

Before joining our team 2½ years ago, Jen spent nearly 20 years working in Yosemite National Park, packing horses into the backcountry and leading day rides. Talk about an office with a view!

Now, she brings that experience and passion to Crossing Bridges, helping our students build confidence, develop riding skills, and experience the incredible connection between horses and humans.

We’re so grateful to have Jen as part of our Crossing Bridges family!

Meet Kylie!

Some people just have a heart for horses AND people, and Kylie is definitely one of them!

Kylie joined the Crossing Bridges Therapeutic Riding Center family in December 2024, but her love for horses started long before that!

With 12–13 years of experience working with horses, Kylie brings both knowledge and a passion for sharing what she’s learned with the students she has the privilege of teaching.

And she’s not done learning herself! Kylie is currently working toward her Associate’s Degree, with plans to graduate in 2027!

But what really makes Kylie special isn’t just her experience with horses. It’s her heart for the students.

Her goal is simple: Treat every student with love and respect while creating a peaceful, encouraging environment where they feel comfortable learning and growing.

Because at Crossing Bridges, it’s about so much more than riding horses. It’s about building confidence, creating connections, and making sure every student feels valued.

There’s a whole lot more happening in our arena than you might realize!

While our students are learning to ride, they’re also practicing things like balance, coordination, communication, following directions, and confidence.

Every student comes to us with different abilities, challenges, and goals. That’s why no two lessons look exactly alike.

And behind every lesson? Dedicated instructors, incredible volunteers, and some pretty special horses.

That’s the heart of Crossing Bridges.

Meet Josie 🐴🤍

Josie loves spending time outdoors, riding horses, and—most importantly—helping others grow in confidence.

Being part of the Crossing Bridges team gives her the opportunity to combine her love for horses with her heart for helping people. And that’s really what therapeutic riding is all about. 🐎

We’re excited to have Josie as part of our team as she helps create a positive difference in the lives of our riders, one lesson and one connection at a time.

Meet Annalisa 🐴🤍

For Annalisa, horses haven’t just been a hobby—they’ve been a part of her life since she was 5 years old.

She’s spent most of her life in the saddle, riding and competing, and that love for equines has only continued to grow. Today, Annalisa cares for two horses and two donkeys, along with other animals of her own.

Growing up raising livestock gave her valuable hands-on experience, knowledge, and an even deeper appreciation for the animals she works with.

That lifelong experience and genuine love for horses is something we’re so grateful to have here at Crossing Bridges. 🐎

You can volunteer.
You can give.
You can share our posts.
You can tell another family about our program.
You can support scholarships.
You can cheer on our students.
You can help us care for the horses that make these lessons possible.

Not everyone who makes an impact at Crossing Bridges is sitting in the saddle.

Sometimes the people standing alongside the arena are helping make the biggest difference of all.

Meet Allie 🐴🤍

Allie is starting an exciting new chapter! She graduated high school in June 2026 and has plans to hit the arena for some upcoming barrel races.

But as she looks toward what’s next, one thing she knows she wants to continue is being part of Crossing Bridges and supporting the incredible kids who come through our program.

We love having team members who not only share a love for horses, but also have a heart for showing up for our riders, encouraging them, and being part of their journey.

We’re excited to see what’s ahead for Allie—both in the arena and here at Crossing Bridges!
