REPAIR work on front entrance soon, follow signs to the back entrance

Our front entry concrete has damage that just gets worse each year, so we will be demo-ing the front two squares in front of the MAIN door. IF you arrive at the library and that door is blocked off, just follow the signs to the back door, there will be a ramp, so no step up. The demo is the toughest part, Paul tells me, but it will improve the front entrance.

Banned Books Week, October 4th-10th. Listen to 1984, look at the graphic novel Maus , read Nobel Laureate Toni Morrison's The Bluest Eye, all three among the American Library Associations list of 10 ten most challenged titles from 2023 to 2025. They are also ..." excellent reads on their own terms — Maus is one of the greatest graphic novels ever written, The Bluest Eye is a masterwork of American literature, and 1984 remains one of the most important political novels of the twentieth century." (Skriuwer.com: "Our small international team of authors and editors spans Friesland, France, and Spain. A portion of proceeds from our books supports De Fryske Wrâld, a nonprofit foundation dedicated to preserving the Frisian language and culture." So, an INTERNATIONAL opinion!)
Book to Movie We have copies of The Power of One, by Bryce Courtenay, which we will discuss November 17th at 6,, NOTE IT'S a Tuesday, and a half hour early!, and watch the movie the 19th. at the normal 6:30.
Regular Wednesday lapbaby and toddler story time, 10 a.m., lots of singing and dancing and books, Friday preschool story time 10:30 am books and musical as well. Other regular activities include Stitch Happens Mondays at 6:30 pm, French conversation Wednesdays at 1 pm, and Mah Jongg both Monday at 10 am and Wednesday at 5:30 pm. All skill levels welcome.
