Need help with an old or inoperable HVAC system?

Southwest Nebraska Community Betterment is sharing information from the Nebraska Housing Developers Association about their All Seasons Affordability Program. This program helps qualifying Nebraska homeowners access support for replacing older HVAC systems with safer, higher-efficiency units that can improve reliability and lower energy costs.

Eligible households may receive:
• Grant assistance for HVAC replacement
• Free inspection of new units
• Post-purchase homeowner education

SWNCBC Receives New Construction Housing Grant bring two new homes to Benkelman

Southwest Nebraska
Community Betterment Corporation
(SWNCBC), a non-profit, 501(c)3 organization located in Grant, Nebraska has been awarded a 2025 New Construction Housing Grant through the Nebraska Affordable Housing Trust Fund program offered by the Nebraska Department of Economic Development in the amount of $443,700. SWNCBC partnered with the City of Benkel-man's Community Redevelopment Association (CRA), with support of the City Council and donations from the community, to make this project possible.

This New Construction Housing
Grant provides funding for two new homes to be built on lots with existing infrastructure within the city limits which were provided by the CRA. Each home will be roughly 1456 sq ft and will have three bedrooms, two bathrooms with an attached two car garage.
Construction has begun on the first home located at 218 9th Ave The selling price of each home is estimated to
$230,000-250,000 with SWNCBC offering up to $46,000 in homebuyer assistance for each home.
All applicants will be required to secure a Single-Family Mortgage Loan from a lender of their choice before entering into a contract to purchase the single-family home.
The Homebuyer Assistance funding will be a deferred 0% interest loan to be paid back 100% when the home sells or transfer's title.
The Homebuyer Assistance funds will need to be paid back with any net proceeds from the sale of the home. SWNCBC will work closely with the lenders to determine the amount of funds needed to close on the home. Each applicant is required to provide a minimum of $1,000 of their own funds towards the purchase of the home and will be required to take a Homebuyer Education class prior to loan closing.

Eligibility for this program is determined by family size and household income. Income verification of household gross income is re-uired and will need to be at o elow 120% Area Median Income
