🌶️ Meet Liddie 🌶️

Liddie is a 2-year-old Chihuahua mix weighing just 12 pounds, and she's equal parts sunshine, snuggles, and sass.

This adorable little girl loves exploring outdoors, soaking up the fresh air, and then curling up under her favorite blanket when the adventure is over. She can be a little reserved when meeting new people, but give her a little time and a few treats, and you'll discover a loyal best friend who wants nothing more than to be close to her person.

Liddie is what we like to call a "sweet chili" Chihuahua. She has a little spice, a lot of sweetness, and enough personality to keep you smiling every day. She loves her treats, loves her blankets, and absolutely loves her people once she knows them.

Liddie would do best in a home without small children and prefers smaller dog friends. She's looking for someone who appreciates a dog with a little character and a whole lot of heart.

☀️☀️ As temperatures rise, it’s important to keep our furry family members safe from heat stroke. Pets can overheat much quicker than people — especially brachycephalic breeds (like Frenchies, Shih Tzus, English Bulldogs, Pugs, etc), senior pets, overweight pets, and those with thick coats.

🐾 Tips to help prevent heat stroke:
✔️ Always provide fresh water
✔️ Avoid walks during peak heat hours
✔️ Never leave pets in parked cars
✔️ Make sure pets have shade and cool areas with good air flow to rest

🚨 Signs of heat stroke in pets may include:
• Excessive panting
• Drooling
• Vomiting or diarrhea
• Weakness or collapse
• Bright red gums
• Disorientation

If you think your pet may be suffering from heat stroke, move them to a cool area and contact Grant Animal Clinic (256-728-7387) or a local emergency clinic immediately. Quick action can save lives.

Because of support from businesses like Avion, we are able to continue saying “yes” to the animals who need us most — the abandoned, the neglected, the forgotten, and the ones who simply need a second chance. Every donation helps provide food, medical care, supplies, transport, and safe places for dogs waiting for their forever homes.

As a small foster-based rescue, community support means everything to us, and we are beyond grateful that they chose to support our mission. Your kindness will directly impact so many lives — both human and furry.

Remember Possum? 🥹

It feels like we’re always posting when we need help, when a dog needs a foster, or when one desperately needs a home… but we don’t always stop and share the happy endings after they move on to their families. ❤️

How many of you remember Possum? How many of you remember the condition he was in when he came to us?

Well… look at him now. 🥹

Handsome. Healthy. Safe. Loved beyond measure. Exactly the life he deserved all along.

These are the moments that remind us why we keep going, even on the hard days. Thank you to every single person who helped Possum get here — whether you donated, shared his post, transported, fostered, prayed, or cheered him on from afar.

This is what rescue is all about. ❤️

Happy National Rescue Dog Day 🐾❤️

Today we celebrate the dogs who were abandoned, overlooked, dumped, unwanted, or simply down on their luck… and the people who gave them a second chance. Rescue dogs may come with a past, but they also come with the biggest hearts, the deepest gratitude, and the kind of love that changes your life forever.

Some rescue dogs need patience. Some need healing. Some need to learn what love even looks like. But every single one deserves it.

To everyone who has adopted, fostered, donated, transported, volunteered, shared a post, or simply rooted for the underdog… thank you for being part of their story. 🐶

Huge thank you to Gilded Moth Tattoo for hosting Tattoos & Tails event this past weekend and helping raise OVER $1,100 for the dogs of Lend a Paw 🖤🐾

Because of your support, we’re able to continue helping dogs receive much-needed medical treatment, support fosters, and work toward helping the Grant community with the stray dog crisis we see every day.

We also loved getting to introduce some of our pups to so many amazing people. They soaked up all the love and attention… but sadly, no adoption applications for these babies just yet. We know their people are out there somewhere, so please keep sharing them 🥺🤍

Thank you to everyone who came out, got tattooed, donated, shared posts, loved on the dogs, and supported our mission. We truly couldn’t do this without this community. 🐶✨

Pearlie has officially reached her limit with the puppies and they need to be separated immediately for everyone’s wellbeing. The problem is simple… we have nowhere for them to go. We are completely out of foster space right now. 🚨

🐶 Ezzie & Woodrow need a foster for ONLY about a week and a half. They leave headed north on May 22nd. That’s it. Temporary, short-term, easy commitment.

🐶 Dicie, Dewey & Wiley also desperately need a foster. Any amount of time helps right now. Even temporary placement gives us breathing room and helps keep everyone safe and stress-free.

As always, all supplies and necessities are provided — your “payment” comes in puppy kisses, snuggles, and knowing you truly made a difference. ❤️

Titus has commitment waiting for him in Colorado — we just need a temporary foster until transport is arranged! We expect it to be no more than a couple of weeks.

Lend-A-Paw provides all necessities. 🐾

We have a dog urgently needing our help, but without a temporary foster for Titus, helping that dog simply isn’t possible right now. We cannot say yes without fosters stepping up to make space. Please consider opening your heart and home to help save a life. ❤️l
