Obituary
Joseph A. Labuda Jr. passed away peacefully on April 6, 2026, at the age of 79. Born on July 29, 1946, in Baltimore County, Maryland.
Joseph was the beloved son of the late Joseph A. Sr. and Katherine Labuda. Cherished brother of Kathleen M. Labuda.
Joe graduated from Sparrows Point High School in 1964. After graduating, Joseph proudly served his country in the Vietnam War. When Joseph returned home, he went to work at Bethlehem Steel. On May 8, 1974, Joe was initiated in I.O.O.F. North Point Lodge #4. He was a dedicated member for 51 years. He was elected to the rank of Grand Master of the Grand Lodge of Maryland in May 2006. Then in May of 2017, he was elected to the rank of Grand Patriarch of the Grand Encampment of Maryland. Joe's passion for the order, led him all over the world. He was a guest speaker for the Odd Fellows in Europe. He gave lectures on the History of American Odd Fellowship. Joe always extended his hand in friendship to everyone he met and was always willing to lend a hand. The jurisdiction of Maryland will miss him, but we will always carry the knowledge he gave us on what it means. to be a good Odd Fellow.
