❤️Remembering One of Our Own ❤️
The Granite family is mourning the loss of a dear friend and longtime member of our Threshing Bee family, Daniel “Dan” Everett, who passed away on September 25th at the age of 75.
Dan was more than just a member of the Granite Threshing Bee, he was part of the family that makes Granite what it is. Even after moving to Utah, Dan continued to make the trip back to Granite year after year, returning to the place and the people he loved. No matter how many miles were between him and Granite, this place still held a piece of his heart. The annual Threshing Bee was something he looked forward to, and his familiar face, stories, laughter, and friendship became a piece of Granite. Dan and Donna also made the trip back for the Spring Party, where in 2026 they were named the Granite Straw Bosses. We were so honored to have them be our parade marshals and celebrate their dedication to Granite throughout the weekend. We know this was something that Dan deeply cherished.
For those of us in Granite, we will remember Dan not simply by the years he came to the Bee, but by the memories and legacy he left behind. All the conversations, the good times, the familiar smile, the jokes, the laughter and the friendship that carried across the miles.
Granite has always been about more than old iron, tractors, threshing, and history. It is about the people who come together year after year and become family. Dan was one of those people.
While we will miss seeing him back in Granite, his place in our Granite family and the memories he helped create will always remain and be remembered.
Our heartfelt condolences go out to Donna, Samantha, Shannon, his grandchildren, and the entire Everett family during this difficult time.
