💜 National Grief Awareness Day | August 30 💜

Grief looks different for everyone. There is no right way to grieve, no set timeline, and no expectation to simply “move on.”

Today, on National Grief Awareness Day, we recognize those carrying the weight of loss—whether it’s the loss of a loved one, a relationship, a sense of safety, or a life they once knew.

Sometimes the greatest support we can offer is simply to listen, be present, and remind someone they don’t have to navigate grief alone.

At WRAP, we believe in meeting people where they are with compassion, understanding, and support. 💜

Be gentle with yourself and others—you never know what someone may be carrying.

💜 Women’s Equality Day | August 26 💜

Today, we recognize Women’s Equality Day — a day to celebrate the progress women have made while continuing to uplift, support, and empower women in our communities.

Equality means having the opportunity to live, work, grow, and thrive with safety, dignity, respect, and a voice that matters.

At WRAP, we believe every woman deserves to feel heard, valued, supported, and safe. Together, we can continue building communities where women and families are empowered to create brighter futures. 💜

💜 A Little Reminder for Your Day 💜

You don’t have to have everything figured out today.

Take a moment to check in with yourself. Have you rested? Have you taken a deep breath? Have you talked to someone you trust? Have you done something—no matter how small—that brings you a little peace?

Taking care of yourself isn’t selfish. Your well-being matters. 💜

And remember, asking for support is a sign of strength. You never have to navigate difficult moments alone.

What’s one small thing you can do for yourself today?

We remember Alice Brown, Kristen Brown, and Evie Brown, the eleventh, twelfth, and thirteenth confirmed victims of domestic violence homicide in Minnesota in 2026.

Alice Brown was “the kindest and most loving; a gardener who loved to walk.” Kristen Brown was “an amazing mother; an amazing businesswoman; funny and witty.” She opened Brown Bear Daycare after giving birth to Evie in 2018, and wrote often of her passion for caring for children. Evie was “a natural leader,” and she loved rainbows and sparkles. We remember Alice, Kristen, and Evie.

Brittany, Brooklyn, Julie, and Becci attended the National Conference on Domestic Violence in Austin, Texas.

This three-day training provided valuable information, resources, and new perspectives on how we can best support those we serve. We are grateful for the opportunity to connect with advocates and partners from across the country, learn from one another, and bring new ideas and resources back to our communities.

💜 Together, we continue learning, growing, and finding new ways to support victims and survivors.
