Last night we received heartbreaking news. 💔
Many of our longtime followers may remember Buddy and Gurly, who were found abandoned together in a park back in 2015/2016. They were scared, confused, and had only each other. Thankfully, an amazing adopter opened her heart and home to both of them, allowing them to stay together.
Last night, Gurly unexpectedly crossed the Rainbow Bridge.
Gurly was the one with the attitude. She always had something to say and wasn't afraid to let her mama know exactly how she felt. Buddy was her quiet, loyal sidekick, content to let Gurly do the talking while he stood faithfully by her side. The two were inseparable, spending their lives cuddling, loving, and growing old together.
While our hearts are heavy today, they are also full of gratitude. Gratitude for an adopter who chose to take home not one dog, but two bonded souls. Gratitude for the years of love, comfort, warm beds, and countless memories she gave them. Every rescue hopes for endings like this—not because we want to say goodbye, but because every animal deserves a lifetime of love, and Gurly absolutely had that.
To Gurly's family, thank you for loving her so completely. Thank you for giving both her and Buddy the life they deserved and a soft place to land. We are so very sorry for your loss and are keeping you and Buddy in our thoughts.
Run free, sweet Gurly. Your rescue journey ended exactly the way we hoped it would—with a family who loved you beyond measure. Until we meet again... ❤️🐾🌈
