🏅 Granite City Sports Hall of Fame Chairman Chris Mitchell presented Granite City High School seniors Megan Sykes and William Taylor with a GC Sports Hall of Fame Scholarship during Senior Recognition on May 20.

⚾️ Congrats to Granite City Sports Hall of Fame 2011 member Daren DePew on his induction into the Greater St. Louis Amateur Baseball Hall of Fame!

DePew played collegiately at SIUE Cougars and spent a season with the Boise Hawks before enjoying a long and successful career in the Mon-Clair League. A well-deserved honor!

2023 Granite City Sports Hall of Fame inductee Aaron Hoback will be on the national stage during the World Baseball Classic as Athletic Trainer for Team Brazil. Congrats Aaron!

Congrats to 2019 Granite City Sports Hall of Fame inductee and Edwardsville HS boys and girls tennis coach Dave Lipe who was named the NHSCA Boys Tennis Coach of the Year. Lipe is a 1984 graduate of GCHS and played under coaches John Van Buskirk and Dick Harmon.

“This one is for them,” Dave said. “They’ve known me a long time, and I wanted to share this with them.”

We are saddened to share the passing of Granite City Sports Hall of Fame TJ Slay.

Inducted in 2021, TJ left an incredible mark on Granite City Wrestling — a 1995 Illinois Class AA 130-pound State Champion with a perfect 43-0 record. He continued his career at the collegiate level, earning NAIA All-American honors in 1998 (134-pounds, 6th place).

Our thoughts and prayers are with the Slay family, friends, and teammates.
