In recognition of Mental Health Awareness Month, the Staff Recognition Committee invited nominations for a Wellness Warrior—someone who helps make our workplace a supportive, compassionate, and human-centered environment each day. These individuals are known for taking time to check in on coworkers, creating space for open and respectful conversations, showing patience, empathy, and understanding, leading with kindness and encouragement, and fostering a culture where everyone feels seen, heard, and supported. We are proud to announce that Michelle Neely is one of our Wellness Warrior winners for May, exemplifying all of these qualities and making a meaningful difference in the lives of those around her. Congratulations, Michelle, on all THREE nominations—you truly are a Wellness Warrior! Here is what her colleagues have to say about her:

"Michelle is always so kind with an uplifting word for her coworkers and peers. She truly brings a positive energy and a team feeling to program. She is always looking out for others and checking in to make sure everyone is okay. It’s a pleasure to have her with us!"

"Michelle Neely is being nominated for her outstanding support of her coworkers and her consistently positive attitude. She regularly takes the time to check in with others, showing genuine care and concern for how they are feeling. Her kindness makes a big difference in everyone’s day. Michelle treats everyone with respect, encouragement, and understanding. She helps create a workplace where people feel comfortable, valued, and supported. Her ability to listen and make others feel heard is truly special and helps build strong trust among the team. She also brings a positive energy that lifts others up, even during stressful times. Michelle goes out of her way to help others feel confident and appreciated, which makes the work environment stronger and more connected. Michelle’s caring nature, teamwork, and daily efforts to spread positivity make her very deserving of this recognition."

"Michelle always makes it a priority to check on the wellbeing of her coworker, her supervisor, and anyone else she comes into contact with in the office. Every time I see her, she brings a little dose of sunshine with her. Because she understands how hard this work can be, she is intentional about creating a safe space for those around her to vent, cry, scream, or just be. Michelle is such a valued addition to our team!"

Each year, the Adoption Support and Preservation (ASAP) Program applies for, and recieves a grant funded by The Poshard Foundation for Abused Children. On April 30, ASAP Supervisor Emily Crowell proudly accepted the grant check from Glenn and Jo Poshard. This funding has been vital in helping meet the needs of families served by the program, including providing therapy supplies, supporting summer camp opportunities, and addressing other needs as they arise. A special thank you to The Poshard Foundation for Abused Children for their continued support and commitment to strengthening families.
