Braves Football & Cheerleading Q&A!!!
How old does my child need to be to participate?
Children ages 5-11 entering K–5th grade are eligible to participate in the Braves program.

Note: We are a tackle football program!
How is their team determined?
Football teams are chosen by age (7yr by july 1st will typically play for 7u) Please note, a child cannot play down to a younger age team.
Can anyone play?
Yes… we are an all-inclusive club! In the past we have had both male and female football players, male and female cheerleaders, players with special needs including a double amputee
Are you looking for coaches and volunteers?
Our program is run entirely by volunteers who are passionate about serving our community. We are always happy to welcome new coaches and volunteers!
When are the camps?
Football & Cheer Camp will be held on June 18th & 19th from 5:30 PM - 7:30 PM at 2599 Parkview Dr., Granite City, IL. 🏈📣 Please comment below or PM us for more information
When does the season begin?
Practices will begin Mid July and will continue through October. The season may extend into November for teams that qualify for playoffs. Last season both 8U & 9U brought home a Super Bowl Win!!!
How much does the Braves program cost?
EARLY REGISTRATION (Extended till June 29th)
* Cheer: $100 Deposit + $50 Fees
* Tykes: $100 Deposit + $50 Fees
* 7-11U: $100 Deposit + $125 Fees
REGULAR REGISTRATION
* Cheer: $100 Deposit + $100 Fees
* Tykes: $100 Deposit + $100 Fees
* 7-11U: $100 Deposit + $175 Fees
The Deposit will be refunded at the end of season following uniform/ equipment return.

Can my child cheer for their sibling’s football team?
If your child has a sibling playing on one of our football teams, we will do our best to place them on the cheer squad assigned to that team. However, we cannot guarantee all requests due to squad sizes, age groups, and other factors.
I have two daughters who want to cheer. Will they be on the same squad?
Yes, if requested they can be on the same squad
What days will practices be held?
Practice schedules could vary depending on the team/ squad your child is assigned to. However, we try to keep practices across the organization on Tuesday, Wednesday & Thursday.
When/where are the games?
Games are typically held on Saturdays or Sundays. Game times will vary throughout the season. We will host home games and travel to area towns for away games!
Will I have to pay for a cheer uniform?
Cheer uniforms are provided by the Braves Cheerleading Organization and remain the property of the organization.
Uniforms must be returned at the end of the season. Families are responsible for providing their child with the appropriate shoes & socks
