The Challenge - Our primary fundraising event celebrates its fifteenth anniversary in 2015. Supporters have contributed millions to touching the lives of wonderful children around the world.

The charity was created by the staff and friends of UFCW 588-Northern California in the name of Jack L. Loveall and his wife, Patricia.

Together with their seven adult children and their families, along with their many generous friends and supporters, they dedicate significant energy and resources to deserving children who desperately need help and can’t get it elsewhere.

From homeless, at-risk youth, to those in foster care to those struggle with debilitating and life-threatening illnesses, among many others, the Loveall Foundation for Children continues to improve the lives of children allowing them to fulfill their maximum potential.

You, too, can run or walk!

Get ready for the 2nd annual Michael John Loveall Run for Children Challenge

In June 2012, an asthmatic, a couch potato and a desk jockey defied the odds and ran a half-marathon with only five months of training. Now, once again, the memory of Michael John Loveall — who passed away suddenly on Jan. 5, 2012 — is inspiring others to overcome personal limits.

Running a race and crossing a finish line might be on some people’s bucket lists. It wasn’t on ours, but we’re going to do it anyway!

We are inspired by the memory of Michael Loveall, who passed away suddenly on Jan. 5, to overcome our personal limits and achieve success.

Year in and year out, day in and day out, there are countless children who face far greater challenges of all kinds. We want to help as many of them as we can.

On June 3, we will participate in the 2012 Rock ’n’ Roll San Diego Half Marathon. The goal is to push the limits of our endurance to show what the human spirit is capable of, and the odds it can overcome.

Each dollar we raise through your support will be donated to the Loveall Foundation for Children.

Please check back on this website to follow this Challenge and learn more about sponsorship opportunities.

We are going to run until it hurts, so we ask you to please give until it feels good!

— John, Mark and Ellen
