MEDICAID/HIP Work requirements are coming! PLEASE attend this FREE Town Hall Meeting!
Beginning in January 2027, HIP members ages 19–64 who are not exempt will be required to complete 80 hours each month through work, part‑time education, job training, or community service. These requirements emphasize a balanced, values-driven approach: pairing compassion with member responsibility, ensuring that access to healthcare is supported by work, job training, education, and community participation!

We are at Fun in the Sun today with Beacon Health Sickle Cell Program! 12-5 At Howard Park South Bend.

Beacon Health System is inviting the community to Howard Park in South Bend from noon to 5 p.m. Friday for “Fun in the Sun,” an event aimed at celebrating life, sharing information about sickle cell disease and connecting families with local resources.

Sickle cell disease affects nearly 1,700 people in Indiana, including about 85 people in St. Joseph County, many of whom are children.

Kimberly Green-Reeves, Vice President of Community Impact, and Tiffany Jamison, Community Health Nurse and Supervisor of the Beacon Sickle Cell Program, joined WNDU this week to talk about the event, community outreach and support available for patients.

Sickle cell trait testing will be available on Friday with a donation for those who don’t know their trait status.

Joining WNDU's interview was local parent Patrick Cobb, who shared his family’s experience raising two children, Rita and Langston, who live with sickle cell disease. Hear more: https://bit.ly/4a5uo60
