Hydroponics in Ag 🌱

In Ms. Pavliska's Greenhouse class, students learned about the use of hydroponics in plant production. Using simple items , students created two different types of hydroponic models in class. We currently have some basil growing in one of our models!

Thank you to some of our friends at the Texas Department of Ag for their generous donation of 5 AeroGrow Gardens to our Greenhouse class! We are using these to grow cherry tomato plants in class. We are very excited about having these in our department!

We are teaming up with Bloom For Good for our Spring Fundraiser! All proceeds go directly back into our Chapter and pay for contest entry fees, leadership camp entry fees, meals for students during travel, supplies for our Banquet, and all the odds & ends that go into running an FFA Chapter!

Week recap for Granger FFA:
Tuesday, 3/24, we took 20 students between 4th-11th grade to Rodeo Austin to compete in Livestock Judging!

Wednesday, 3/25, we took a Floriculture team and a Vet Science competitor to the Glen Rose Invitational. This was a great experience and brought together over 1,000 students from all over Texas to compete in the different events hosted by Glen Rose!

FFA Fun Fact! 💙💛

Did you know classification of schools for competitive FFA events is based off of location and not school size? All teams in FFA, no matter if it's the Radio Broadcasting team, Livestock Judging or Tractor Tech team, compete against ALL classifications of schools (1A-6A) at all levels of competition (Invitationals, District, Area, State) from all over the Texas!

We brought this incredible weekend to a close on such a high note. We’re going to miss this season, it’s been the greatest ride. We are incredibly proud of this team and our time at State has been amazing.

Don’t forget—support agriculture and supprt your farmers. It’s events like these that are truly preparing our youth to be the leaders and providers of tomorrow.

Thank you to all those who supported these students and made this opportunity possible—whether it was providing a meal or letting them evaluate a tractor. We couldn’t have done this without you!
