King’s Table was started in the fall of 2012 after God divinely put together three families who all had adult children with special needs who loved God. David learned Jonathan had one son left alive. This son was crippled in his feet. David took Mephibosheth and brought him to the King’s table. He not only fed him, he restored his families land to him. He put in place people to work the land and d
o what Mephibosheth could not do. He restored his way of living. He restored his dignity. And he put him in place of honor at the Kings table. David was known for worshipping the Lord. How we live our everyday lives is also an act of worship. As we look for a pattern in the bible of how we should interact with those with disabilities, David’s path seems the most clear. It’s a place of dignity, purpose and honor. This is the place we wish to create for all individuals with special needs. Each family the Lord had brought together had an adult special needs individual who desired to learn more about worshiping and serving the Lord. So we began to have classes to teach bible, life skills and job skills. It is our vision to network with business owners and help individuals with disabilities to find jobs in the community. It is also our vision to have Christ centered group homes for individuals who are able or desire to live independently. This would include placing some individuals within families, as some may do better placed within family units when their biological families are no longer able to care for them. As we pray and seek the Lord we are constantly fine tuning the plan of action given to us by the Lord. Our hearts are to see families and individuals restored to their fullness in Christ and to walk with their heads held high knowing they are loved by Jesus and the body of Christ.
