Isn't this a beautiful image? I found it at Wallpaper Access. It looked like the perfect picture of an early spring morning that promises to be a beautiful day. I think many of us need a day just like this about now. I know I do!
It's been a bit quiet over here for the Blue Bead. We hope to change that this summer as we work to get back on track. Basically, our little non-profit is just my husband and I. There was no one else to jump in when our personal lives got a little hectic. We've had many changes and challenges over the past year or more. My mother moved in with us and she has had many health issues as well as dementia. It's been a big learning curve and adjustment for all of us. My father is living with cancer and is several hours drive from us which makes visiting difficult. Some of our children have had serious and unexpected health issues as well which have been of concern. Of course there are always a multitude of unexpected life happenings, like a dead water heater, our van breaking down and too many other things to even mention.
There is that part of me that likes to think that things will get easier, I'll have more time to relax, the 'when this- then that' attitude. But let's face it, that's not how it works. Life doesn't get easier but hopefully, we increase our ability to handle the challenges that come our way so it feels just a little more manageable. A big part of that for me is my perception. It has more to do with where I chose to focus my energies than ticking off a never ending 'to do' list. (But I've got that too!)
I'm I going to look at this photo and wonder if the clouds are rolling in or are they dissipating to reveal more blue sky behind them? Or will I look at it and not care, only appreciate it for its beauty in that moment, because either way, I will have sunshine at some point. The key for me is to take those moments when they happen and use them to fill my spirit so I have something to pull from when they are gone.
And that's where I am right now. I am working to refill my spirit. I'm catching up on the practical and making plans to realize the potential. So although we have been quiet here, it's been rather noisy in our lives, but just like the spring, we are will be coming at you soon with new growth and new endeavors.
Watch this space.
