When my shopper says to me, “I was able to get everything on your list and stay under budget,” it truly makes my day!!!

Every dollar we save means we can stretch our budget a little further and help even more families. It’s easy to overlook how much time, effort, and planning goes into shopping for a nonprofit, but having someone who treats our mission like it’s their own is priceless.

So thankful for the people behind the scenes who make this village possible. 💛 Every saved dollar, every deal found, and every bag filled means another family gets the support they need.

Busy is going to be an understatement today. 😅 I’ve already got a birthday cake in the oven, 9 family grocery orders ready to go (just waiting to pack the cold items right before pickup), and cupcakes are up next. 🤸🏽

It’s a full day, but it’s the kind of busy I love. 💛 Knowing that 9 families across Kent County are heading into the weekend with groceries to help feed their families makes every minute worth it.

Little update for the village 💛

Since reopening our forms earlier this month we’ve had over 160 families apply for help. 🥹 The need right now is absolutely there & growing!!

I’m officially emailing the last families from the June 15th submissions, which means we’re making steady progress through the list! Thank you all so much for your patience while I work through every application in the order it was received.

This little nonprofit has grown so much in such a short time, and while it’s a lot to keep up with, I’m so grateful for every volunteer, donor, and supporter helping make this possible. One family at a time, we’re getting there!!!!!!!! 🫶🏼💛

🥹💛 Village adopted plants check-in time!

Since I’ve adopted out over 100 plants now, I want to see how they’re doing! If you’ve adopted a plant from me, drop a photo in the comments and show me your progress. 🌱

This is my squash from the very first round of adoptions, and I know it has LOTS of siblings out there by now. 🥰 We’ve sent out so many tomatoes, peppers, beans, herbs, squash, and more that I’m curious to see how everyone’s gardens are growing!

Whether it’s thriving, struggling, covered in tomatoes, or being held together by hopes and dreams 😆, I want to see it all!!!!

Also, let’s use this post as a place to ask gardening questions and share knowledge with each other! 💛 There are so many experienced gardeners in this village, and I’d love to see everyone helping each other grow.

41 families helped last week!!!!

🥹💛 Look at that freezer! Thanks to our amazing shopper, we’re stocked back up and ready to keep serving families across Kent County.
This past week alone, we helped 41 families through scheduled pickups and volunteer deliveries. Many families request delivery on their forms, and thanks to our incredible volunteers, we were able to get groceries right to their doors when we have volunteers.

For a little nonprofit that started with a simple idea of neighbors helping neighbors, seeing numbers like this makes my heart so full.

A huge thank you to our shoppers, donors, and delivery volunteers. Every bag packed, every deal hunted down, and every mile driven helps make this village possible.

This made my whole day yesterday

A villager came to pick up their scheduled groceries and surprised us by leaving behind something that is going to be so useful to The Village. Formula is one of those items that can be incredibly hard for families to afford, and donations like this help us make sure babies are fed when parents are struggling.

I never expect things like this, which somehow makes it even more emotional. The kindness of this community never stops amazing me. Thank you for helping us help each other 🥹🫶🏼💛

I have appointments today, so I figured it’s the perfect day to let some plants find new homes! 🌱💛

If you’re a villager and would like to adopt some plants, I have soooo many available right now including LOTS of tomatoes (3 large plants already flowering! 😍), all grown from seed.

Please note:
🌿 Pickup only
🌿 No holds
🌿 Plants must be picked up within 24 hours of claiming or I’ll move on to the next person

Available plants include tomatoes, squash, cucumbers, beans, and more!

This is everything that’s come in this weekend so far… and this doesn’t even include the few packages I opened on Friday. 😭

Every box is something a family needs. Groceries, diapers, period kit supplies, pet food, household essentials items that will be sorted, packed, and sent right back out into our community.

And honestly? I can’t wait to start opening these. 🥹 There’s something so exciting about seeing what showed up, figuring out how many families we’ll be able to help with it, and seeing how much we get to stretch our budget because of these incredibly generous donations. Every item donated is one less thing we have to purchase ourselves, which means we can help even more families. 💛

It’s easy to see a stack of boxes. I see kindness, community, and people showing up for strangers they’ll probably never meet!!!! Thank you for keeping this little village going. 📦✨🫶🏼😭💛
