VILLAGE!!! 😭🥹🫶🏼 I woke up this morning and got to do the BEST kind of math.

Yesterday alone, you brought us $1,031.11 CLOSER to reopening!! 😭🙌🏼

A HUGE thank you to SJ, who donated through Cash App, Averi, who donated through Venmo, and Beth, who donated to the village again. We are so thankful for each of you!

Because of yesterday’s donations, we went from $1,874 left to just…

$842.89 AWAY FROM OUR $5,000 REOPENING GOAL!!! 😭😭🙌🏼

I cannot believe we are under $1,000 away. Every donation is getting us closer to reopening and getting back to what we do best feeding our village without judgment. 💛

Thank you, thank you, THANK YOU for believing in this mission and helping us keep going. 🥹🫶🏼

I’ll add our Linktree below for anyone who wants to help us close that final $842.89 gap!

WE ARE SO CLOSE, VILLAGE!!! 🥹🙌🏼💛

Oh Beth, how do I even find the words to thank you? 🥹💜 Giving you a few goodies from the garden still didn’t feel like nearly enough to match the heart you continue to give to our nonprofit.

What started through a shared love for our community has grown into a friendship I’m forever thankful for. Your support, generosity, and belief in what we’re building here means more to me than I could ever put into words.

You’re not just someone who supports the Village you ARE a Villager. 🥹🫶🏼💜 Thank you for having such a beautiful heart for our community and for being part of ours.

Thank you from all of us in Kent county 🫶🏼🫶🏼🫶🏼

Another happy update this morning! 🥹🫶🏼💛

Between Venmo and our PayPal Charity Fund yesterday, we raised another $100 toward our reopening goal!! That means we officially have just $1,874 TO GO to reach our $5,000 goal! 😭🙌🏼

A huge thank you to Delaney and Sue for donating through Venmo, and to a new follower from TikTok who found us and donated through our PayPal Charity Fund. 🥹🫶🏼 It means so much to see both longtime villagers and brand-new people choosing to believe in what we’re doing here.

We are getting closer, village!! I’ll drop our Linktree below for anyone willing to help us keep that number moving. Every $1, every donation and every share matters. 💛

I LOVE picking after the rain 🥹🌧️🌿 Everything just feels extra fresh and beautiful. Tomatoes, peppers, herbs, flowers and a wholeeee lot of basil 😂 There is something so special about walking into the garden with an empty basket and coming back with this. Grown right here at home with so much love. 🥹🫶🏼🍅🌶️🌿

Rain or shine I’m out here 🥰

Round FOUR of tomatoes! 🍅🌱🥹

This round includes green tomatillos, Romas for homemade tomato sauce, Sun Sugar yellows, Harvest Moon, and German Queen tomatoes!

I am SO excited to see what these babies give us. 🫶🏼 I already know there’s going to be plenty of homemade sauce happening, but I can’t wait to see what else I can turn our harvest into!

There’s just something so special about growing food and then turning it into something that can feed people. 💜🌱🍅

I completely forgot to post this because I was SO busy that week 😂🫶🏼

There was a TikTok trend: “Ask your veteran husband what makes you unfit for war.” So naturally, I asked mine who served for 12 years.

Apparently POTS needed to be listed FIVE separate times just to really drive the point home. 🤣😭

And ending with “Army food” absolutely sent me. I’d be throwing a fit demanding everyone eats better so they can fight better 😆

Enjoy, because I definitely did. 😂🫶🏼

We are now just $1,974 away from our $5,000 reopening goal!

Thank you so, so much, guys. Every single dollar counts, and every donation gives me a little more hope that we’re going to keep moving forward and get the Village reopened. 🥹💗

We’re getting closer. It truly takes a village. 🫶🏼

We were talking the other week about how, starting in 7th grade, the lunch lady was always calling home because I was out of money in my lunch account. She wasn’t very nice about it either. 😅

My mom always thought it was a little strange because she knew she was putting money in there.

Turns out, I was buying lunch for other kids. Kids whose parents didn’t have the money or just didn’t have anything extra that week.

I started doing that in 7th grade and kept doing it for four years.

Even at 14, while going through some of the hardest trauma of my life, I still noticed who was hungry. I still wanted to make sure they ate. I have always put others first.

Looking back now, I realize this has been embedded in my bones since I was a child. Taking care of people. Feeding people. Seeing someone who needs something and thinking, “Okay, what can I do?”

There was purpose in that little 7th grader spending all her lunch money. 🥹

And I’m so thankful I’m still here, getting to live that purpose on a much larger scale helping feed families throughout my community.

Just a girl in Grand Rapids, Michigan, ready to feed the masses from her home. 🥹🫶🏼💛

Turns out, I’ve been building the village longer than I ever realized.
