Long before his name became synonymous with business jets, Bill Lear built and scaled much of his early success right here in Grand Rapids through Lear Service. From pioneering radio technology to advancing aircraft systems, Lear’s work helped push American innovation forward by proving that world-changing ideas didn’t just come from the coasts, but from communities like ours. 🙌

On July 4, 2026, our nation will commemorate and celebrate the 250th anniversary of the signing of the Declaration of Independence. This semiquincentennial milestone gives our country an opportunity to pause and reflect on the profound principles that continue to define our union.

For more than a century, Michigan has helped move America forward by revolutionizing transportation through the auto industry, powering the nation during wartime manufacturing and leading breakthroughs in labor rights and public health.
