Loop Coding Center in a Nutshell

Loop Coding Center was founded in early 2017, by Angel, Jose, and Luis. As high school student learning computer programming at Kent Career Technical Center, Luis noticed that he was the only Latino and there was only one girl in his class. This made Luis feel uncomfortable and out-of-place as he thought Latinos were not capable to do programming. Upon starting college Luis studied Computer Information Systems. In many of his classes, diversity was an issue as most students were Caucasians.

At Loop Coding Center we are working on increasing the number of minorities in the fields of technology by introducing middle and high schoolers in underrepresented areas to computer programing. To do this we offer computer programming classes and workshops, in which the students will learn essential social and technical skills to create a realistic feel to the classes.
