What an exciting day! Nonprofit professionals from across West Michigan came together today for the West Michigan Nonprofit Technology & Innovation Summit to learn, share ideas, and explore new ways technology can strengthen their work and impact.

A huge thank you to our presenters for sharing their knowledge, our sponsors for making this event possible, and Symplicity Communications, Inc. for their incredible partnership and efforts in organizing today’s summit!

Heart of West Michigan United Way’s Ambassador Cabinet brings together business and community leaders who champion United Way and connect more people to its work across West Michigan. As trusted voices within their organizations and networks, Ambassadors help open doors, build awareness, share insight, and create opportunities for others to give, volunteer, advocate, and engage.

This year, the Cabinet will be co-chaired by Aashna Cross, Vice President and Relationship Manager at Huntington National Bank, and Cam Young, Executive Vice President at Behler-Young Company. Both have been steadfast United Way champions and consistently demonstrate what it means to be an ambassador, using their leadership, relationships, and voices to bring others into the mission and strengthen our community.

We are grateful to Aashna and Cam for stepping into this leadership role and excited for the year ahead as the Ambassador Cabinet helps more people across West Michigan connect, engage, and take part in building a thriving community for all.”

Our staff has been busy in the community over the past few months—attending gatherings like the Michigan West Coast Chamber of Commerce Awards Dinner, the Celebration of Philanthropy with the Community Foundation of the Holland/Zeeland Area, and the Community Action House Farm to Food Club event. We cheered on Community Action Allegan at their groundbreaking for a new early education campus and the West Michigan Hispanic Chamber of Commerce ribbon-cutting of their new headquarters. We celebrated the end of summer with the Allegan County Community Foundation Nonprofit Appreciation Picnic.

We’ve also enjoyed connecting with neighbors at the Allegan County Fair. Our team participated in our own Day of Caring, spending the morning at the Community Action House community garden.

We love being part of our communities and are grateful to celebrate alongside our partners.

One highlight of Day of Caring is when our volunteers gather at Millennium Park for lunch. Seeing everyone together in one spot highlights the day's collective impact. Thank you to Kent County Parks Department for generously sharing their gorgeous facility, the Grant Pavilion.
