What an honor to be highlighted by Broadway Grand Rapids for the Outsiders musical! ✨ Our team not only was able to raise awareness of our mission and mental health action plan but were also able to have meaningful conversations with attendees about mental health, a reoccurring theme throughout the show.

We repurposed old tires to reflect the gritty and industrial set of the production and invited folks to share what helps them stay gold! We quickly filled several tires, displaying the different protective factors individuals rely on to stay grounded and mentally healthy. It was such a hit, some of our tires made it to the official DeVos Performance Hall photo booth, cementing as an interactive memory attendees can reflect on. πŸ’›πŸ›ž We also passed out limited edition be nice. bracelets with the iconic β€œstay gold” line to remind ourselves to continue to shine bright!

Thank you to everyone who participated. We hope you enjoyed the show as much as we all did! πŸ‘πŸŽ

Advocating for a world where everyone experiences belonging. πŸ³οΈβ€πŸŒˆ

Allyship through clothing and accessories can be a powerful tool. It opens up opportunities to spark meaningful conversations with those around you, challenge societal stigmas, normalize inclusivity and act as a visual signal that you are in support of marginalized communities.

We kicked off our Care Beyond the Chair. programming with an open training! πŸ’ˆ

This seminar is structured for beauty industry professionals, particularly hair stylists and barbers. We utilize the be nice. action stepsβ€” notice, invite, challenge, empowerβ€” to teach stylists hot to recognize signs of mental health changes, starting meaningful conversations pertaining to mental health, steps for taking action, and building resilience.

Stylists touch the lives of so many people every day! The connections they build and the trust they earn make them uniquely positioned to be a champion for mental health in the community. We are grateful for the participants who took the time to engage, grow, and be a mental health advocate. πŸ’šπŸ©·
