Thanks to the generous gift of the Classis of Canadian Prairies, the first cohort of students in RCA missionary Tom Johnson's virtual biblical training program have received laptops — making it possible for pastors in the Democratic Republic of Congo to fully participate in online theological training for the first time.

"The Congolese people are tired of war and destruction and are looking for hope, love, and peace," says Tom. "The church can play an important role in helping people understand God's promises."

Join us in praying for the Philippines as they experienced a powerful 7.8 magnitude earthquake earlier this week. The damage is significant and the death toll rising, especially after a landslide was set off by the quake.

We're in contact with our partners in the Davao City region. Please join us in praying for them and their community that was impacted by this natural disaster.

RCA missionaries Lia and Thiago Dantas serve alongside local pastors in Brazil's Uatumā region, where God is writing stories like this one.

For years, Mr. Sebastião resisted the gospel. Then in 2014, his son Eudes — who had given his life to Jesus — passed away. In the depths of that grief, Sebastião's heart finally broke open, and he surrendered his life to Christ.

There was just one challenge: he had never learned to read or write. But when a mission partner gifted his pastor an audio Bible, it found its way straight to Sebastião's hands.

A year later, he called his pastor:
💬 "I can't read or write, but I listen. I listen to the Word of God… and I want to be baptized!"

Today, at 67, he has a strong faith and is a blessing to his entire church community.

When conflict broke out in the Middle East earlier this year, the English Language Congregation (ELC) in Bahrain gathered online for the first six weeks of the war. Setting aside offerings during that uncertain season, the congregation chose generosity — increasing their commitment to provide food, housing, and practical care to those in need both inside and outside their community.

Then came Easter Sunday. Meeting in person for the first time in weeks, the ELC gathered to worship — and to witness something remarkable: dozens of new believers were baptized and professed their faith in Jesus Christ.

This is the gospel in action. Thank you for praying for, encouraging, and financially supporting the ministry of missionaries like Blaine Newhouse and the ELC in Bahrain. Stories like this one are made possible by your faithful partnership. 🙏

The recent Colombian elections reminded RCA missionaries Andrew and Amy Fields why the ministry of the seminary where they serve in Medellín is so vital:

"In the midst of so much polarization and vitriol, we gather together around Scripture with students from all different regional, political, socio-economic, cultural, and denominational backgrounds. We have the privilege of forming men and women who are grounded in God’s life-giving Word and Spirit in order to lead the church to live in a new obedience which can open new possibilities of life for society and the world (paraphrasing the Belhar Confession). "
