MEET ZAWADI!
An Apprentice from the Refugee Education Center- Hand Connected Preschool.
Zawadi is from Congo and a refugee. To her, it means a lot to be an Early Childhood Educator where she can work with a diverse group of students and help them grow. Being in this apprenticeship Zawadi has learned to not be afraid because nothing is impossible.

Maria is from Guatemala, speaks Spanish, and looks forward to making a difference in the lives of her students. Maria credits the apprenticeship for helping her become the type of teacher she wants to be later in life.

Avery had not planned to make a career out of early childhood education, but after stepping foot in a classroom she couldn’t leave. She believes that through the apprenticeship she has a community of support around her helping her reach her goals.

Frederik Meijer Gardens & Sculpture Park is proud to announce that it has joined Museums for All!

This program encourages people of all backgrounds to visit museums regularly and build lifelong museum-going habits. It supports those receiving food assistance benefits visiting Meijer Gardens for $2 per person, up to four people, with the presentation of a SNAP Electronic Benefits Transfer (EBT) or WIC card. Museums for All is part of Meijer Gardens’ broad commitment to seek, include and welcome all audiences.
