Hey mamas and growing families! I recently took an in-person tour of the Family Birth Center at Trinity Health Grand Rapids, and let me tell you, I was absolutely blown away.

I specifically timed my visit to coincide with Black Maternal Health Week, and seeing how they support and empower diverse birthing experiences was so refreshing.

I got to check out their modern, private birthing and postpartum suites Birth Center Tours - Trinity Health Michigan. The rooms are spacious, filled with natural light, and come with relaxing labor tubs or showers to help manage pain.

But what really made me so excited was seeing their physical preparation tools. First, they have a dedicated birth ball closet fully stocked so you can easily grab an exercise or peanut ball to stay mobile during labor.

Second—and this is a game changer—they have hidden squat bars tucked right into their modern closets to attach to their labor beds! 👍🏾squat bar edition ‍♀️ The labor bed is a tool that we can use to our birthing advantage .... Being able to easily utilize gravity and open up your pelvis during pushing is a huge plus if you are looking for an active, upright labor!

The nursing team here is incredibly accommodating, and they are fully set up for both unmedicated births and advanced pain relief Trinity Health Grand Rapids

Whether you are just starting your pregnancy journey or looking for the perfect hospital in West Michigan, I highly recommend booking a spot for their free, in-person maternity tour Birth Center Tours | Trinity Health Michigan. You can visit their website or call the Trinity Health Grand Rapids Maternity Team to schedule yours today Trinity Health Birth Center - Grand Rapids Hospital!

📸 Calling photographers who know how to capture more than a photo—they capture a story.

ROSE is seeking photographers across the country to help document the beauty, power, tenderness, and joy of Black and Indigenous breastfeeding families for our national Uplifting Black & Indigenous Breastfeeding campaign.

If you have experience photographing melanin-rich skin tones, a heart for community, and a passion for preserving authentic family stories, we’d love to connect with you. Whether you’re an emerging photographer, birth photographer, student, or seasoned creative, your lens can help amplify images that are too often missing from the maternal health narrative.

Selected photographers will receive a $600 stipend, a $200 hospitality fund for participating mothers, national exposure, portfolio-building opportunities, and the chance to contribute to meaningful, lasting change.

Spots are limited as we build our national network of photographers. Apply soon and help us ensure Black and Indigenous breastfeeding families are seen, celebrated, and remembered.
