🌳Now Seeking Park Attendants *Summer/Fall* Volunteer Opportunity (Ages 16+) 🌳

The Mom’s Club of Grand Rapids is seeking reliable, caring Park Attendants (ages 16 and up) to assist with our summer and fall park days and community outings.

Requirements:
✔ Ages 16+
✔ Experience working with children
✔ CPR/First Aid certification preferred
✔ Ability to support children, including those with sensory needs
✔ Dependable, patient, and willing to assist during group activities

Details:
This is a volunteer-based opportunity with appreciation incentives, including free lunch, gift cards, giveaways, and other community perks.

Summer EBT (SUN Bucks) – Michigan Info (MDHHS)

The Summer EBT program (SUN Bucks) is a federal benefit that helps families buy groceries when school is out. In Michigan, it is administered by MDHHS.

Benefit amount: Eligible children receive $120 per child for the summer.

Who qualifies in Michigan:
Children may be eligible if they:
• Receive SNAP, TANF, or FDPIR
• Qualify for free or reduced-price school meals
• Are income-eligible for Medicaid (per MDHHS guidelines)
• Are categorically eligible (foster, homeless, migrant, or runaway youth)

Most eligible children are automatically enrolled through school or MDHHS records.

How benefits are issued:
• SNAP households → funds added to Bridge Card
• Non-SNAP households → SUN Bucks card mailed to home

When to expect deposits:
Benefits are issued in phases starting in June, and timing varies by eligibility and processing. Not everyone receives funds at the same time.

In honor of Memorial Day, we pause to remember and give thanks to the brave men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice in service to our country.

Their courage and dedication are not forgotten, and we are deeply grateful for the freedom we are able to enjoy because of them. Wishing everyone a safe, peaceful, and meaningful Memorial Day with loved ones 🇺🇸

Parent Café is today 💜

Just a reminder that we’ll be gathering from 5:30 PM – 7:30 PM at the Samaritas Chapel Entrance (600 Burton St SE). We’d really love to see more parents, caregivers, and community members come out and connect with us. ✨

🚧 Please note: There is construction on Burton Street, so depending on which direction you’re coming from, you may have to go around. The entrance is STILL OPEN.

Tonight we stopped by Project Night Lights at Helen DeVos Children’s Hospital. 💜

Every second Wednesday of the month from 8:30 PM - 9:00 PM, the community gathers outside the hospital to shine lights and show love to the children and families inside. Tonight also recognized Cystic Fibrosis Awareness Month and helped spread awareness for those affected by CF.

Small moments like this really remind you how important community is. 🔦🏥
