CBOs have consistently decreased violence in their communities, reducing shootings by between 40 and 70%. These trusted organizations are often the first place victims turn for support, and for a good reason.

Tag a nonprofit in your community that's doing amazing work for public safety!

Pennsylvania's new 2026-27 state budget provides $4.5 million to stabilize the Victims Compensation Assistance Program - an incredible win for crime survivors throughout the state!

The last thing crime survivors should worry about in the aftermath of their victimization is losing their job as a result.

But for 1 in 3 survivors who take time off to heal, that's exactly what happens. Crime survivors already face enough barriers to healing... this shouldn't be one of them.

Today is PTSD Awareness Day. Nationally, 7 in 10 crime victims report experiencing at least one symptom of trauma. We know that access to healing resources, Trauma Recovery Centers, financial compensation, and community are vital to reducing these numbers.

That's what Crime Survivors Speak is all about. Remember, if you're a survivor and experience PTSD, you are not alone.

We are healing. We are changing the narrative. We are survivors!

June is Gun Violence Awareness Month. 🧡

One voice we don't hear enough in the conversation about gun violence is the voice of youth survivors. As difficult as it is to face, we cannot deny the impact of crime in our younger populations.

These California survivors of gun violence are paving the way and striving to reduce harm by embracing healing, hard conversations, and trauma recovery programs.

When survivors speak, change happens.

‼️Right now, there are over 100,000 people ON PROBATION in Michigan.

The best way to stop cycles of crime is to give people the tools to succeed. When someone on probation has a stable job or goes to school, they are drastically less likely to reoffend.

📝HB 5447 is a common-sense reform that rewards hard work. This bill lets people on probation earn time off their supervision by holding down a job or earning a degree.

When people are working and building a life, they don’t reoffend. It’s that simple. Let’s reward accountability and make our communities safer. Tell your local lawmaker to support HB 5447!
