“We need to remember that we have an Enemy every bit as real and lethal as any wild animal. If we’re not armed with prayer and God’s Word then we leave ourselves open to a major attack. Never let down your guard spiritually. Be alert.”

The past couple of days have looked a little different than I expected.

Instead of checking things off my to-do list, I’ve been sitting beside Sarah as she recovers. ❤️

Between helping with meds, fluffing pillows, calling doctors, and making sure she’s comfortable, I’ve also been putting the finishing touches on a message I’ll be sharing at She Speaks next month.

And somewhere between those two things, one sentence has been sitting with me:

How we see our story shapes how we share our story.

I’ve been thinking about my own story.

There are seasons that, in the moment, felt like all I could see was the pain.
The disappointment.
The waiting.
The confusion.
The mess.

But time…and more importantly, Jesus…has a way of changing our perspective.

He has a way of helping us see His fingerprints where we once saw only failure.
His faithfulness where we once saw only fear.
His redemption where we once saw only regret.

Which doesn’t mean we pretend our stories aren’t hard, minimize the wounds, or ignore the chapters we’d rather forget.

But what if we asked God to help us see our story through the lens of the cross.

If you’re in a hard chapter today, I’m praying that in time you’ll begin to see God’s fingerprints there too. 🙏🏻

And I’d love to know… Has your perspective on any part of your story changed over time?

(No need to share details if they’re personal. Just a word or two is enough. 💚)

A few reflective thoughts on an ordinary Wednesday:

The reality is, I’ve walked through some pretty hard things in life.

Addiction.
Single parenting.
Grief.
Betrayal.
Illness.
Family challenges.
Seasons where I wondered if God saw me at all.

And if there’s one thing I’ve learned, it’s this:

God’s love isn’t conditional.

It doesn’t disappear when we fail.
It doesn’t run out when we’re struggling.
It doesn’t get withdrawn when life gets messy.

Friend, if you need a reminder today:

You are loved.
Deeply.
Completely.
Right now.
Period.

Not the future version of you.
Not the cleaned-up version of you.

You. ❤️

What’s one way you’ve experienced God’s love lately?

Earlier this week I spent a day filming two workshops for the upcoming Speak Up Conference:

📖 Crafting a Memorable Message
🎤 Retreat Speaking That Rocks

As I was reviewing my notes, I found myself thinking about the messages that have stayed with me over the years.

Not the funniest.
Not the most polished.

But the ones God used to give me exactly what I needed.

The sermon that gave me hope.
The lesson that changed my perspective.
The conversation that challenged me.
The truth that met me right where I was.

Funny how years later we may not remember every point, but we do remember how God used it.

So tell me…

What’s a message you’ve never forgotten? What made it memorable to you?

This weekend was so sweet at the Gull Lake Ministres Women’s Conference! 🥳

I had the privilege of sharing Gumballs & Grace and teaching from the life of Joseph. Isn’t it encouraging that God can take pits, prisons, plot twists, and all the things we never would have chosen and weave them into something beautiful?

A few highlights:

• The women. So many kind conversations, hugs, stories, and moments that reminded me why I love what I get to do.

• The setting. ☀️ If you’ve never been to Gull Lake, it’s gorgeous. Sunshine, sparkling water, happy people, and plenty of reminders that God’s creation is showing off. (And the retreat team? Over the top incredible! 🙌🏻)

• Hanging out with comedian Anita Renfroe and Bible teacher Heather M. Dixon. I laughed, learned, and left encouraged.

• Getting to spend time with my beloved friend Rochelle Visser and daughter Sarah. Any trip that includes people you love, snacks, and a little road-trip chatter is a win.

Tonight I’m feeling that special combination of tired feet, a slightly hoarse voice, and a very full heart.

Most of all, I’m grateful. Grateful for the opportunity to share hope. Grateful for everyone who prayed me through the weekend. Grateful for God’s faithfulness. And grateful that He still uses ordinary people to point others to an extraordinary Savior.

What a good weekend. ❤️

I’ve been praying over every one of these upcoming summer gatherings because I know God has a way of meeting women in exactly the moments they need Him most.

But my favorite part is not the stage. (Not one bit.😬)

It’s the conversations afterward.
The prayer moments.
The hugs from women who whisper, “I needed that today.”
The stories of God’s faithfulness.
The reminder that none of us are walking this road alone.

Every time I prep a message and pray over an event, my heart is the same:

Jesus, meet the women in the room. Encourage the weary. Strengthen the ones hanging on by a thread. Call someone back to hope. Remind every woman she is deeply loved by You, period.

If you’re coming to one of these events, PLEASE come say hi. I would love that. (And yes, I’m a hugger. Fair warning. 😉)

I’d love to know:
What’s one thing you’re asking God for this summer?

Still thinking about last week at WinSome Women Christian Retreats and the joy of opening Psalm 23 together. 📖

We talked about wandering like sheep. 🐑

We reflected on the Truth that restoration isn’t about getting your life together. It’s about letting the Good Shepherd bring your soul back to where it belongs.

(And apparently… my little sheep friend became quite the celebrity because several women wanted photos with her afterward. 🐑📸)

But beneath the laughter and fluffy sheep photo ops was something deeper.

So many women are carrying heavy things.
Grief.
Weariness.
Questions.
Pressure.
Quiet struggles no one else sees.

And the reminder we all needed?

You are not too far gone.
Not too messy.
Not too tired.
Not too late.

The Good Shepherd still leads.
Still restores.
Still stays.

What a gift to remind a room full of women, and my own heart, that even in the valley…

He’s still here. ❤️

What Truth from Psalm 23 speaks to your heart most right now?

“Even though I walk through the valley… You are with me.” Psalm 23

Day 2 at Winsome Women 💗

My heart is so full! Just feeling incredibly thankful to the Lord for the opportunity to open His Word, share hope, and spend time with so many amazing women this week.

And to my praying friends…thank you!!! I could feel your prayers, and I don’t take that lightly. God is so kind!

There’s nothing I love more than teaching God’s Word and reminding others that Jesus is better, faithful, present, and still changing lives. More to come soon….😊 But first, another nap! 😴
