Tomorrow's the last night of September. 💃

We did seven this month across four spots. Cumbia, bachata, salsa and merengue on Thursdays at The B.O.B., salsa at 5th Street Hall, bachata up at Ashton, and cha cha at Nick Fink's to close it out.

If you came to any of them, thank you. Seriously.

Remember it's a Sunday, so the lesson's at 5. Cha cha with Michael Page at Nick Fink's, 3965 W River Dr NE.

Then we start October.

If you've never been to one of our Thursdays, here's how it goes. 💃

Show up a little before 8. You don't need a partner and you don't need to know anyone. The lesson starts at 8, everybody lines up, and beginners stand up front. It's about an hour.

This week it's merengue, which is honestly the easiest one to start with. If you can walk, you can do it.

After that the floor's open till 1. Stay for one song or stay all night.

Thursday at The B.O.B., 20 Monroe Center. 21+ and free.

Beginners can stay near the front. If you already know a few turns, there's room at the back. Bring whatever you've got.

Four of our instructors have been dancing longer than some of the room has been alive. 🕺

Twenty years. Twenty years. Seventeen. Twenty-five.

The free beginner lesson gets taught by people at that level, which is not how this usually works anywhere else.

There's a card in the app nobody's mentioned yet. 🕺

Check in at all four WMLD spots, The B.O.B., 5th Street Hall, Nick Fink's and Bostwick Lake Inn, within a month. Then you skip the line and get in free at Ashton.

It's a tour, not a punch card. Four nights at The B.O.B. doesn't do it. One night at each place does. Bostwick is seasonal, so while it's closed two nights at The B.O.B. stand in for it.

Joining counts as your first tick, so you start at 1 of 5 the moment you're in.

Which makes the card an excuse to finally go to the night you keep saying you'll try.

And for this Saturday only, we're handing it over instead of making you earn it. Download the app, make your account, join West Michigan Latin Dance inside it, and your name goes on the list at Ashton.

We are doing that once. After Saturday, the card is the only way.

Cocktails, a more dressed-up crowd, and a lesson that starts before most people have eaten. 💃

Ashton is the third floor of The B.O.B., and it is nothing like our Thursday downstairs. Same building, a different night entirely.

Every WMLD night in your pocket, plus every other dance night in West Michigan, because a scene isn't one organizer.

Check in at the door and it counts toward free entry. Request a song to the DJ from the floor. See who's going, and get told if a night moves. Spanish and English, switch anytime.

The easiest night to walk into on your own is the one that happens every week, and most people have that backwards. 🕺

They hold out for the big Saturday. The Saturday is louder, fuller, and harder to arrive at cold.
