🍩 Happy National Donut Day! 🍩
Did you know that National Donut Day was created by The Salvation Army in 1938?
The day honors the courageous "Donut Lassies" who served alongside American soldiers during World War I. Working near the front lines in France, these women provided more than just donuts and coffee. They offered comfort, encouragement, and a reminder of home during some of the most difficult moments of war.
More than 85 years later, National Donut Day remains a celebration of service, compassion, and the impact that small acts of kindness can have on others.
As members of Echelon, we're proud to support The Salvation Army's mission and continue that spirit of serving our community.
So today, enjoy a donut and take a moment to remember the remarkable women whose legacy inspired this sweet tradition.
