🌟It’s - We’re super excited for our 2️⃣nd FREE microchip/vaccine clinic NEXT MONTH!!!

👇🏾👇🏾👇🏾A few things to know👇🏾👇🏾👇🏾

‼️We had an unexpectedly HUGE, more than ever before, turnout for our May clinic which led to running out of some vaccines & traffic jams. Please know that we learned from that & plan to be overly prepared & have a different set up. PLEASE DO NOT ARRIVE BEFORE 10:30am, WE WILL *NOT* START BEFORE 11am!‼️

📍We will be located in the empty lot at the corner of Godfrey/Curve SW (put 706 Curve SW into your GPS) & will have signage showing you where to go!

🐾We will be offering FREE microchips, Rabies vaccines, & Distemper (DHPP or FVRCP) vaccines! *As long as our vet believes the pet is healthy enough

🐾Dogs MUST be on safe/secure collar or harness & leash* (We prefer NO flexi-leashes, prong collars, shock collars, etc)

🐾Cats MUST be in a secure carrier*
(*We will have leashes, collars, & carriers if needed!)

🐾First come, first served - be patient & kind, we’re all volunteers here for your pets

🐾Your pets will be handled & chipped/vaccinated by volunteer vet techs/assistants & we will have a DVM on site in case of vaccine reactions

🐾If your pet has never had the DAPP or FVRCP (distemper) vaccine, they will need a booster in 3-4 weeks

🐾If you know your pet has reactions to vaccines, please give appropriate dose of benedryl ahead of time & let us know

🐾If we’re unable to handle your pet for behavioral or health reasons, we reserve the right to refuse & refer to a local clinic (we do have muzzles & treats to use as needed)

🐾While supplies last - microchips are donated by Fi Nano & we are purchasing the vaccines/supplies!

If your pets are already chipped/vaccinated & you’d like to help, sponsor a vaccination for just $5!

I was found near Burton & Eastern SE today & brought to VEG ER for Pets on 28th St to hang out with some nice folks until my people come to find me. The nice people at PHPFP microchipped me but it’s not registered.

🐞🐾TODAY! Saturday, June 20th🐾🐞

We are open for donation drop off from 10am-2pm and distribution from 12-2pm!

📣WE WILL BE CLOSED ON JULY 4 but back to our normal distribution schedule after that! We’re hoping we have enough on our shelves to give extra to all who need it today! We purchased quite a bit of food over the last week, thanks to your generous donations, we think we will!📣

*CLIENTS: Please stay in your vehicle upon arrival & add yourself to the waitlist on our website. Follow the prompts carefully as they may have changed.

‼️We are asking folks to park on the street or in the empty lot across the street until you receive the text that it is your turn to come up to the building & pick up your items. We will only call you up when we have a parking spot available. You may use that time to also quickly look through our little free store but we will not be able to page the next family until you’re done so please only take what you need. ‼️

Unpopular opinion:

Most people who need help feeding their pets aren't irresponsible.

They're working.

They're raising kids.

They're caring for aging parents.

They're doing everything they can to stay afloat while costs keep rising.

The families we meet at Dog Aide don't love their pets any less than anyone else.

In fact, many skip meals themselves before letting their dog go hungry.

That's why we do what we do.

Because no family should have to choose between paying a bill and keeping food in their pet's bowl.

Before you judge someone who needs help, remember:

You may be one unexpected expense away from needing help too.

🗓️ Heads up, friends!
Pleasant Hearts Pet Food Pantry will be closed on Saturday, July 4 so our volunteers can enjoy the holiday. 🇺🇸🐾
We’ll do our best to send you home with a little extra at our June 20 distribution (while supplies last) to help bridge the gap.
Our next distribution will be July 18.
