West Michigan Coyotes We are a MTB racing team of student-athletes Grades K-12 from across West Michigan. Welcome to the West Michigan Coyotes. We abide by three principles:

1.

As of 2022, we have members from across the area, as far north as Grant, south to Sturgis and along the corridor from Grand Rapids to Muskegon (including Forest Hills, EGR, Spring Lake and Grand Haven). Mountain biking is a great sport for everyone. Starting while you’re still in elementary school, middle school or high school sets you up for a lifetime of fun in the woods.

2. Racing is fun, and racing together is even more fun. Our team, while competitive and excited to win a team championship some day, really revolves around having a good time on your bike.

3. Sportsmanship is contagious.

Our high school Coyotes are BACK TO BACK STATE CHAMPS!

Getting to celebrate another team series championship at Bloomer was a pretty good way to finish the season. Elementary and middle school both brought home second in the series too. A lot to be proud of across this team.

But there’s more to catch up on than the trophies. Ocean made it to staging on a borrowed bike with two minutes to spare, then had her best varsity finish yet. Kids picked themselves up after crashes and kept racing. Our seniors crossed their final MiSCA finish lines, and Tristan’s mom supplied another video you should probably turn way up before playing at work.

All 72 riders are in the recap, along with a few thoughts on why we’re going to miss having this crew together next weekend. Grab a coffee and give it a read.

Homecoming Saturday. Racing Sunday. Parents fueled by coffee and the promise that somebody had packed their own shoes.

Heritage was pretty RAD. Sweet sends, muddy kits, a rear wheel doing percussion, and Tristan’s mom providing the soundtrack to a winning varsity sprint. You need to watch that video with the sound on turned up to 11. Your coworkers may become Coyotes fans without their consent.

Alexander was back racing, Owen was back on his bike, and 64 Coyotes made the official results. Every single one gets a shout out in the recap, along with 25 coaches who discovered that going slower could help them go faster. Please allow extra time for them to explain that at practice.
